I used these straps for fixing 4x4 wood hand rail posts to flagstone & concrete deck stair landing pads. Together with the usual transverse bracing against the stair stringers, this provided a very solid and sturdy hand rail solution for my three deck stairs.

I used these to make a short 'pony fence' to hide my trash cans behind. I had some leftover 4x4 lumber from my main fence project, but it wasn't long enough to secure in the ground, so these brackets were perfect to secure to the concrete. My wall is only about 3.5' tall and about that long, so it's definitely on the small side; I have no issues with these brackets being able to support that small amount of weight. If you are considering using them for a 5-6' fence, I'd probably recommend you go another route - I don't think there is any way they would support the heavy corner posts for my regular fence, but they are great for a small project.
