Purchased as a gift
Purchased as a gift for my dad, who asked for them. The packaging was pretty busted but he wasn't fussed. Said they were great and is very happy with them.

The business
I think everybody says these are the ones to go for. Chisels are often sold not very sharp but this set worked well on first use, for cutting out some hinges.

I do not have a beef with the supplier. Irwin I do have a problem with as the manufacturer. These do not match the pattern of the 5002 model bevel chiselNot really a bevel chisel, not really a firmer chisel. WTF. My old Stanley 5002 bevel chisels left a bit to be desired with regards to the bevels.If you are working a dovetail these will be of no help to you.There is an eight hour grind on a coarse (black) diamond stone for each chisel to put this right which at national minimum wage is on the wrong side of £350 or I have to convince a friend to put these on his univerity's engineering shop surface grinder and use up £50 of his time.Better second hand buys are available from flea markets-but watch out for edges cooked on on bench grinders.
