Hi, The 3000 modes measure Wind Speed, Relative Humidity and Temperature. It will also calculate Dewpoint, Wind Chill and Heat Stress Index.

Q: Whats the difference between the kestral 3000 pocket wind meter and the kestral 3000 heat stress monitor?

The only difference is the color.

Q: How long does this take to provide a reading after turning on?

You will get a reading upon powering up. However, you will need to allow about 15 minutes in the open air to get accuracy with atmospheric conditions.

Q: does this come with a battery?

Yes, it comes with one CR2032 Lithium Battey.
