To Run the World: The Kremlin's Cold War Bid for Global Power

Soviet leaders’ quest for prestige, recognition and credibility.
Radchenko’s book is long but very informative. His account of how different Soviet leaders thought and acted post WWII is enlightening. It is probably aimed not only at historians and politicians but also at people who lived through the Cold War. This is probably not a book for today’s younger generations unless studying the Soviet Union and Russia at university. Apart from Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev and Gorbachev the final chapters also focus on Putin. Recommended.

Geopolitically sweeping yet psychologically intimate, dense but highly accessible.
Essential reading for students of the Cold War.

Well written and informative.
A well written book on a subject I know quite well. Its multi-layered subject matter is handled with skill such that its both an informative and pleasurable read.
