You've probably seen circuit boards repurposed for consumer items (e.g., there's a box made from recycled PC boards in the background of the photo). They're fun gifts item for the nerdy type in your life, especially hardware folks. These coasters are, as near as I can tell, not from recycled post-consumer PC boards; there's no vias (holes through them), and I don't think I've ever seen white boards before in the wild. That's actually a good thing, though, because holes in your coaster kinda defeats the whole purpose.You get two of them, and a set of clear plastic feet you get to stick on. The glue is solid once you've pressed them into place. The coasters have a top and a bottom. The top has a subtle "PLACE CUP HERE" silkscreened on it, along with the expected outlines and part numbers for surface-mount devices that never got surface-mounted (oooh look, an inductor!). The bottom has designated spots where you're supposed to stick the feet, which you can see on the top of the left coaster. Hey, I'm a rebel, man, you can't tell me what to do, coaster!The copper traces on the boards add just enough texture that cups aren't quite as likely to grab the coaster when you pick them up compared to most smooth-surfaced coasters I've used. That's a nice feature right there, since I'm forever dropping coasters onto the floor that way. Speaking of those traces, they are in fact conductive. Yes, I checked, I'm a dork.Anyway, these are good coasters for the price, and I like the design, so I'm giving them five stars.

The coasters are made from actual PCB material. The package includes 8 little sticky rubber feet, which you definitely need since the finish is very smooth/shiny, so they won't really stay out on a desk or table.Just maybe don't get these if the recipient would care to point out that the PCB design clearly is incomplete, since there are no vias and the holes for throughhole components haven't been drilled :) but you probably would be counterproductive for a coaster!
