I So Appreciate Josh’s Frogs!
I’ve ordered from him quite a few times now and I am always surprised how fast they arrive! The packaging shows care and the quality of his products are exceptional!! In the beginning I ordered from a few different suppliers… I realized very fast that Josh’s Frogs are my soul fly and worm supplier!

Best in the business!
I've been using Josh's Frogs fruit flies for about 6 months now and they're always better than I expect! The flies come fully started and with plenty of food inside to sustain the culture for multiple months if kept correctly. The flies are always healthy, full of life, flightless, and consistent in size/quantity across the cultures I've received. At first, I was hesitant to buy these because I had seen a few poor reviews but after having multiple cultures I believe those reviews are mostly based off of people not keeping their cultures correctly. The cultures come with everything you need plus care instructions (and sometimes a sweet thank you note), so there is no better option on the market for this price and quality of feeders. I will say that if you need an established culture to provide for multiple animals then spend the extra couple dollars to get a producing culture, there is a difference; if you buy ahead of the needs of your animals go ahead and get the freshly started and sit on the culture a week. I can keep my cultures healthy and producing for about 10 weeks at a time on average which is phenomenal! I live in the midwest where it's decently humid so I've never had any issues with mold or the culture drying out. I never keep my cultures in a place that gets direct sunlight since that seems to really tank their health and production. I also recommend putting the culture in the fridge for about 20-30 minutes before feeding since this slows down the flies to a level that's manageable to deal with come time to open the lid. The delis arrive exactly as described, double sealed, and with thoughtful ventilated lids. It's clear that Josh's Frogs cares about their products, animals, and customers and I will be using them exclusively going forward.I know they're just flies but they're perfect and my young jumping spiders love them!

Healthy and plentiful.
The Amazon drivers did not handle with care. I figured nothing survived but I kept the container regardless and now I have many flightless fruit flies. Hold tight, the FFS's will come. 👍

UPDATED REVIEW: Won't be ordering in the future.
Just got a little jumping spider and purchased some temporary food. Waited a week for this to arrive for a more consistent food source only to find them all dead. Probably didn't help that the shipping took 8 days. Now I've got to figure something else out so my spider doesn't starve...Edit: I got in touch and they expedited a new one to me. This one was alive and full of both flies and larvae moving around. Adjusted review to 5 stars for the customer service and making it right. The product itself is great when it arrives as intended.Updated Edit (7/14): Had another culture that died out suddenly, so I ordered another one. One thing about these cultures is they provide some odd tracking number that doesn't display what location your item is at in tracking history. I'm not sure why they don't provide the actual USPS one, which is the carrier it is shipped with. I've only seen Josh's Frogs do this. You'd think that providing proper tracking when it comes to feeders for your pets would be a given, but I've had to reach out each time for it so I know my jumpers aren't going to starve.I've previously reached out to them for tracking and they sent it over right away. This order, I'm now on my 4th attempt to contact them for a simple tracking number! This is especially frustrating as I'm currently completely out of food as the last culture I got from them died off suddenly - I think mites. The first lady said they can't and I have to contact Amazon (load of BS as it states on the order that Josh's provided tracking, and to contact them regarding shipping - furthermore, getting an actual tracking number from Josh's wasn't an issue before). So, I reached out explaining the same and some other lady came back and referenced one of my PREVIOUS orders - when I provided them with the current Order Number in my message. How hard is it to read the customer's messages when they contact you with an issue? The level of incompetence is really frustrating - they should provide the actual carrier tracking number for feeders to begin with. We shouldn't have to pull teeth to get it either to ensure our pets will be fine. While they corrected a previous issue of dead flies before, it was caused by their choice for an extremely long transit time. The replacement came in 2 days. After this recent issue, I'll be ordering elsewhere in the future because of this treatment.

amazing product with extras!
The product came quickly and with eggs + larvae inside. The package also came with a couple gift cards and helpful sheets for reaching the business. This product is amazing and I am grateful for the gift cards/coupons! Amazing price for great product. Saves the hassle and time of creating your own culture too!

I am happy with the flies I purchased
My fruit flies are currently breeding out of control! I am going to have to kill some off or separate them into other containers because I don't have enough pets to eat them all! I am happy with the flies I purchased. The culture produced flies in one week. After 10 days I am now starting to get an overwhelming number of flies. (this is to be expected and is not a complaint). My preying mantis pets are happily munching on both the black fly-less fruit flies and the golden fly-less fruit flies that are being produced by this culture.

Better when Directly Ordered From Source
These do not even resemble hydei flies I've ordered directly from Josh's Frogs. They are paler and don't seem to have the large red eyes. THEY ALSO FLY. So now I have more gnats in my house than in my frogs' stomachs.I've had nothing but perfect hydei "hoppers" when ordering directly from JF. They also arrived a total mess. When ordered through JF, the boxes are marked to indicate live insects inside and which side of the box needs to stay facing up, so they tend to be in much better condition.
