I never fell in love with a suitcase before
3 things were very different about this case that helped me: The handle keeps the case from tipping one way or the other (like a center-positioned handle does on most all other suitcases. I've actually fallen twice when my old case tipped, and I went with it.); the case opens from the top vs the side. This allows you to remove your computer at security or an item from the other pockets there without opening the whole case for the world to see; each of the 4 wheels is "doubled" to enable very smooth rolling. I thought a hard body case would be difficult to use because it wouldn't have outside pockets, but this case solves that.

Lots of packing room for clothes.
The way it opens is great. With a wide handle, it gives you lots of space. Haven’t flown with it yet, hope it is allowed on WestJet & Air Canada. Will update after first flight in December.

Over the 9" depth limit of some airlines
I liked it ok but the depth being too fat was a no go for me as I don't want to get caught and have to check the bag. When compared side by side with another suitcase that I ended up keeping, it was obvious that it was too deep. Also, it didn't look quite as high quality or aesthetically pleasing as the other brand that was $20 cheaper.

It survived a trip to Japan
I came back from a trip to Japan with the zippers, wheels, etc, all in tact, so it's strong enough (though I did add a strap to tie down the suitcase in case the zipper failed). I am subtracting one star because the white does not look as good as the picture. It's a lot more yellowish or off-white, and doesn't look as good. I have seen other people with suitcases that are of better looking white color while traveling in Japan, so the uglier white color is a design choice and not some sort of manufacturing limitation.

Zipper doesn’t last
Used for two trips, once domestically and once internationally, did not stand up to the journey of getting checked. Zipper is unable to be used and lock as it should. Return window closed unfortunately.
