Much appreciated gift.
The parents received this as a gift for a newborn. They have shared that their little one already enjoys the colorful movements.

Doesn’t always play
Sometimes it stops before the full-time has elapsed and a huge problem we are having is that the music mechanism or something just stops responding.Unfortunately we picked this because of the remote feature but it’s mid at best. You have to hold the remote up at an angle and have it face pointed directly at the top of the music box. His crib is in our bedroom. We are sleeping 3 feet away from him so it shouldn’t take multiple tries to get it to respond..Even if you aim the remote properly, it won’t work when the whole ”music box shut down” happens… at that point if you go up and you press the main face button it doesn’t do anything. You have to turn the whole thing off and then back on again and then it starts up with the lights and the music and the moving figures. (This is not due to him messing with settings, they are still set to the “full shebang”)this usually happens at like 3 o’clock in the morning whenever all we would need to do is press the button on the remote and he would calm down and go back back to sleep ….but of course if it doesn’t work and we go up to the crib to try and get it to work he sees us and that sets him off and he won’t go back down until we hold him.

Remote is really cool
First off, this is surprisingly big. It's been a very long time since I bought a crib toy and it was maybe 8x10 then. This thing is BEEFY. It uses 4 C batteries, which you might not have on hand, so be aware you'll need them when it wears out...because in a complete shock to me, it came with a set! The remote (more on this in a bit) does need 2 AA but most people have those around. The item is pretty sturdy and seems to attach well. I don't have a crib so I tested it by strapping it to a chair and was satisified with how well it gripped. As I mentioned, this thing is big so unlike the ones I had for my kids, the baby can truly interact with it. The buttons control the lights and music and the orange sanddollar on the side switches modes. I felt the lights and sound were right on the money for brightness and loudness. The remote is a really cool idea. You can turn it on remote! I don't know about others' experiences, but sometimes when I would sneak in to check on the little one in the crib, my footsteps would make them stir. With this, you can hit the remote and perhaps let them go back to sleep. Really a novel idea. It is an IR remote, not bluetooth, just in case you are thinking you can have it with you in the garage or something btw. It works like your normal TV remote. Going to be a nice gift for someone.

My son loves this
My son absolutely loves this! It's pretty mesmerizing watching the fish move with the music and the light waves effect. I like that it slowly shuts off on its own and the button is great - my son is 1.5 and if he wakes up he'll push the button and put himself back to sleep. He can adjust the side brightness control on his own, but even at it's brightest it's not too intense so it hasn't been an issue. I think his "fishes" are one of his favorite things right now. The remote works okay, but it only works if I crack open his door and that usually wakes him up so I haven't used it much. The only thing I don't like about it is that is goes through batteries ridiculously fast. If my son didn't like it so much that would maybe be a deal breaker for me. If you do get this consider reusables if you use it a lot (they're not cheap but neither is replacing the batteries every 2ish weeks).

Big size, good quality, and cool design.
This musical baby sound machine is much bigger than I thought. The material of this machine is very good, and the design is pretty cool. It is easy to tie to the crib and is very secure, no need to worry about it falling off. It with a soft calming seas light show: 4 switch settings with up to 25 minutes of soothing lullaby music, calming ocean sounds & soft glowing light effects. My baby girl loves it. She presses the on and off buttons to control the music machine every night before going to sleep. It also comes with a remote control, so when my daughter falls asleep, I can turn off the music without getting close to it.I highly recommend this musical baby sound machine. It is very suitable as a gift.

Pretty cute machine!
I was pretty surprised with how bulky this is actually. My son unfortunately wacks his head off of it at least five times a week but he plays with it every time he’s in his crib so I’m not moving it. I personally don’t like that the dial for it is so large and on the side because it makes it so easy for baby to mess with and change the settings. We have had the little Einstein one in the past and this one is much bigger.I do however love the little sea animals it has. The sound quality is great in my opinion. It doesn’t get too loud and overwhelming. Performance wise I’d say it’s great. It doesn’t eat through batteries like the little Einstein one did. My one year old has zero complaints and that’s truly all that matters. He loves it.

Mesmerising
My 9 month old twins really enjoy watching this toy! We don’t use it to help fall asleep (we have a routine), but it is wonderful for keeping the focused for some time. They love crawling towards it, and generally are mesmerized by both the sounds and the movement.
