A new way to do watercolors and very budget friendly
I bought these because my order of Karin Brush Marker Pros got delayed & I wanted to try these water color pens, so I now have the set of Ohuhu and the set of Karin (poor me, right?) These are really really impressive pens!First off - these are truly brush pens - the nibs are not the shaped, "felt-type" material like Karin & Copic markers. So you can get the painterly effects with these pens. This limits the fine control to a degree, because there's not a solid point, however I've been working very small lately and I am able to put small amounts of ink very precisely, even with the brush. And the colors are fantastic - they look like laser jet prints, not watercolors! You can dilute them on the page to get the soft, misty watercolor effects, but the ink colors are so vibrant that I'm not sure you could achieve water color landscapes with the soft misty greys and purples - but since that's not what I paint I'm not sure, my point is that these colors are very bright and very saturated. Having said that, however, I do find the colors in the Ohuhu set somewhat more muted that the Karin, so I'm getting a good range of colors using both sets. I found that Ohuhu also spread pretty uniformly - unlike the Karins, where certain colors don't seem to 'wash' with water very well.If you're on a budget, or you're not certain that water color makers will work for you & don't want to invest a lot of $, then this would be a great set to try - the Ohuhu are approx $0.55 cents each while the Karin are about $2.25 each!! You can get a much cheaper product without getting a much cheaper product, if you get what I mean. One complaint: the Ohuhu makers don't yet come as open stock - I hope that changes soon because then these will be virtually perfect!!Here's another complaint - how the heck can I rate these "for beginners" or if they are "giftable"....um, no, they're a lousy gift if the recipient is really into cross stitching, or gardening, or re-working car engines - they probably wouldn't find them easy to use, either.

On Par with Kuretake Clean Colors at a Fraction of the Cost
As of this review, I have used these exclusively for lettering, and with great nib control especially for a real bristle brush they have worked excellently. When it comes to control, bristled brushes are a different beast than nylon or felt tip, but bristled brush tips give the freedom to write on fine to heavy toothed stock without concern for damaging nibs. The downside is that there a lot of these type on the market, often times having inferior nibs making control impossible. I was planning on purchasing Kuretake Clean Color watercolor brush pens, when I saw a promising Youtube review of these, which sparked my curiousity. This 50 pen set by Ohuhu's at the time of writing this are listed at $22, while the Kuretake, which are undoubtedly great, are about twice that, but don't let the price mislead you into thinking that you are sacrificing quality at all, and with a pallette of 50 beautiful colors, that should satisfy most, these are at least for me a no brainer. I have no doubt that these would be excellent for illustration as well.

Actually are the best watercolor pens out there
Unlike most watercolor pens, this brand actually lets you reactivate the paint, even after it's dry - just wet a brush and go for it. Go read the reviews on any other watercolor pen brand and you'll find they give you a few seconds to move paint around, if they let you smear it and blend at all, after a few seconds you can't anymore. I tried these hours after letting them dry and I could reactivate every color. That was the deciding factor on why I bought. After reading the reviews on other paints, I kept in mind that II had tried these once before and they could smear and blend, so I got them and bingo - exactly what I want. Prefect and beautiful colors. I wouldn't letter with the brush but for adding color, I'm very happy with his. I picked out 10 to carry with me in my calligraphy kit but so many beautiful colors in this set.

Highly recommend Ohuhu Water color markers
So far, I'm enjoying the Ohuhu Water Color markers. They're easy to use. The colors are vibrant and fluid which gives a rich vibrant feel to my art. I also like the bristle tips, they feel precise and very applicable to the surface of the paper I'm using. ( I recommend using cardboard or other mixed media paper for these markers.) I've only begun to use Water Color markers so I haven't mastered blending my colors yet. However, the results speak through this image. I may buy again. Recommend this beginners like myself and advanced artists.

Very nice markers
These are very nice markers. Mine were not dried out, as some reviewers had experienced. Good colors and "brushes". I can get a full range of strokes, from wide to fine. Write-up on Amazon says "These marker brush pens can create beautiful watercolor effects by simply dabbing a plain brush into water, and on your page, thin out the ink.", which they do. Outer container is a fairly heavy envelope-like sleeve. Inner slotted tray is much lighter weight; slightly heavier plastic would have been preferred. For the price, these are 5 star.

Highly recommend!
These watercolor pens are exactly what I was looking for. Super easy to use, very blendable, and no mess (so I can take them when I travel). The colors are vivid when used without additional water, softer when used with water, which makes them excellent for shading.I’ve recommended them for both student artists and professionals. This pack comes with a fine-point “water brush”—basically an empty brush pen you fill with water to make the paint bleed and blend. There are other additional, wide-bristle water brushes you can buy if you’re doing large scale paintings. My only complaints are that there are not enough shades of red (only one true red and a few reddish orange colors) and the brush end of the water brush doesn’t hold its shape after a few weeks of daily use. That said, I was able to trim the bristles to reshape the brush and it works perfectly. I wish I could buy some additional reds, but still, I love this set and use it almost daily. I highly recommend it.
