Super bright with large and sharp image. This projector did not disappoint!
This is an excellent projector for the money. This projector also comes with a black nylon bag for carry and storage. However, it’s not padded so it does not provide any protection, just convenience.Upon unpacking, the remote will require two AAA batteries which is not included. Also, this projector does not provide any cables except for the power cable. My test included using a HDMI cable to my laptop watching Netflix. Wow, was I in for a pleasant surprise. First, this projector is super bright. I was able to get a good picture in the middle of an afternoon simply with my mini blinds closed. I noticed it has several different modes, one of which was “eco” mode. This mode was a tad dimmer, but I used it since it was perfectly adequate. It also feels like I can make the bulb last longer by not burning it so bright. After a simple set up of selecting the language, and adjusting zoom and focus (both of which is manual), I was greeted by a super bright, LARGE, and sharp image. I selected a random movie on Netflix and this projector did not disappoint. Image was clear and movement was fast. I did not notice any lag in image refresh. The only “weak” point regarding this projector is the built in speaker. Using the HDMI cable from my laptop, the sound was pumped out to the projector’s tiny speakers. The speakers were loud, but there was no quality to the sound. I do not plan on taking stars away since I have a few high end blue tooth speakers paired with my laptop for watching movies. The fan is not loud, and it did not get too hot. Overall appears to be a great projector.

Fantastic little projector
I love this little Optoma projector, despite its somewhat dated video specs (more on that later). I give it an A+ for usability and ease of setup. It's very lightweight at 5 lbs and very compact. It's easy to move around and takes up very little space on a shelf in our garage. It comes with a convenient carrying case for keeping everything together. It's not padded though, so do be careful not to drop it. The bag could've used a little more elbow room though -- it's a tight fit and there's not much room for anything else besides the power cord (thick desktop PC-styled 3 prong plug), HDMI cable, and remote.2 AA batteries are included. An install CD comes with the projector, but in the age of high speed internet, I don't know why manufacturers still bother with this. It's completely unnecessary, and I was able to use the projector within a few minutes of unboxing. I hooked up my Acer PC to it via HDMI and streamed a movie from Plex (HDMI cable is not included). It's easy to operate even without the remote control, through the buttons on top of the projector and the onscreen menu. The image is bright and sound is respectably loud.As for the video, it's not the best it can be, but sometimes you just need good enough. This model is marketed for business use, so XGA would be more than adequate for Powerpoint and slide presentation. Even when it came out in early 2018, XGA resolution (1024x768; 786,432 pixels) had largely already been superceded by the superior 1080p standard (1920x1080; over 2 million pixels) for TVs, phones, and laptops. The laptop I'm writing this review on, for example, is 1080p.At the time of writing, Optoma has several 1080p projectors that are similarly priced to this one, so if your budget allows, go for the 1080p like the EH336. 1080p offers better resolution and clarity, especially if your presentations are text-heavy and contain smaller print (like PDF's). 1080p is the native resolution on a myriad of consumer electronics, including game systems, so you'll be getting the best picture possible. Until 4k, that is, if you're willing to spend about 3-5x more.I intend to use it for backyard movie night with my young kids, who aren't so picky about video resolution. For this use case, this Optoma X365 will provide hours of summer time fun.

This is a great addition to my teaching college!
I really like the portable nature of this unit so that I can take it with me to class or use it out in the field when I am teaching. The simplicity of operation, ability to use my laptop and other things which I need to project to my students makes this a great addition to my communicating with my students.I found that when using this I could easily show the students what they had done in their exams and how to do it better by graphically displaying the material to them on the large screen class room. We have other electronic devices in the classroom, but there are many times that I have to be in different classrooms which are not so equipped and this Optoma X365 has the right name being that it can be used all year long. When I used to travel lecturing in different cities I often wished that I had a projector of this size with an ability to give forth sound and allow a more adequate presentation. This is a highly recommended unit for both the home movie outdoors or to use in business.

Excellent projector, great colors, quite, many ways to hook up, many ways to adjust. Perhaps not for a technical novice
Excellent projector, bright and very versatile. Works with PC, laptop, cell phone (iPad and Android), USB, cable box etc. I loved the color clarity and the quietness of the fan. It's stable, has a ±15deg tilt and can be mounted on the ceiling. So, as far as projecting power and ability to connect and adjust is concerned, I am very happy with this product. However, there are a few shortcomings that one has to be aware of: there is no cable, like an HDMI, network, or USB cable included, only the power cable. Neither is the Wifi dongle included which is used for casting. The manual is very detailed concerning some types of setup and very poor on others. The projector can read Word, Excel, PowerPoint, pdf right from a USB, which was impressive. But it couldn't handle formulas in PowerPoint. Of course one can export the PowerPoint to pdf and that solves that but still. It can handle jpg and bmp, but not gif or png. So, I found the installation a technical challenge worth the trouble but still a challenge. For those very experienced with this kind of setup, I truly recommend it. For those unskilled and unexperienced I would suggest to make sure that the know someone who can help.
