Cayenne Pepper Powder 90K H.U. - capsicum annum, 1 lb,(Starwest Botanicals)

Very HOT! My attic squirrel hates it. I use (a little) to season everything from eggs to home made salsa. Be careful of the heat. Having lived in NM for years I like hot food, and I still have to watch it. You know... you can add more, but removing it is just not gonna happen. I do like the flavor, but that's a personal thing. The best chilis are full of flavor, and for dried powder this stuff is pretty good.After reading the posts, I have begun to take some as a health additive, a little in a gelcap. No comment on that either way, other than I didn't get heartburn. Did I mention it's HOT? So I am slowly upping my dose; likely that's the recommended way to use it. I can't stress this enough. You CAN'T leave any spill or cloth you used to clean up a spill laying around. oh, yeah, don't vacuum it with a shop vac, either. I tried that, and threw the filter away.As I said, I bought it as a surprise gift for the attic squirrel and he hates it, though it worked great with a mask, goggles and a powder abrasive sprayer on low (20 psi) to 'gift' him in his home. But I didn't think about my clothes. A rub and a lick and I was in the shower, with the clothes in the washer before I got to the shower. I'm thick skinned but wearing clothes was the right choice. I'm just sayin...My squirrel has decided to move, but I'm not sure for how long yet. I plan to add some grease/cayenne powder mix around his entrance. Even if you just shake it out, Wear a mask. Wear goggles. Glasses are not enough. It's hot.

I have ordered this before and I will continue to do so! Consistent quality , priced right for every day use I use it as a master cleanser herb for Gi track healing, it has completely eliminated my bleeding ulcers !

Very spicy, much hotter (perhaps around 3x) than anything you can get in grocery stores. I eat food much hotter than nearly anyone I know. To compare, I can cover a piece of breaded chicken in store--bought cayenne, and barely taste the spice. With this, if I cover it, while I can eat it, it's a bit painful. Definitely worth it.I ordered the non-organic version of this last time, and while the spice level seemed the same, this one had a more 'usual' cayenne pepper consistency with regard the the fineness of the powder, whereas the non-organic version had a very flour-like grind, and allowed it to get airborne very very easily. I'm not sure if it's a quality control thing, or an organic vs. non-organic thing.

I have been using this stuff for years and have never gotten a bad bag. I love spicy food and this stuff is hot enough to trigger endorphins but not hot enough to send you to the ER. I also order organic turmeric at the same time and mix them. A pepper shaker with half of each mixed together evenly can be sprinkled on any dish and make it better except for desserts. I often use it on cheese and crackers too. If you use it be careful not to inhale while putting it in your mouth. I sucked it down my trachea a few times and it was agony. That was my fault though. I highly recommend it and the turmeric.

The taste if good and the product has been consistent. I put it in my food as a digestion aid since it increases HCL in the stomach which we need for digestion but as we get older less is made by our bodies.The one question I wondered about is the inner part of the package made of aluminum a known poison and prevents nutrient digestion?

Not an expert, but this cayenne pepper seems very good. Nice and hot, fresh, tastes normal, etc. This is my second bag and haven't had any issues. I fill a glass spice jar, and then store the bag in the refrigerator (along with other spices). Good deal, pick some up!

Extra strong and would like to share with mice but too smart to eat!!!

I don't know about their other products but their Cayenne is fresh bright and and has the bite you would expect. I just trashed a full order from another company right after opening it as there was no returns on it. I think I am somewhat a expert on cayenne as I use it multiple times a day everyday.
