Amazing EDC blade
I had heard many great things about the Rat 2 and decided to finally pull the trigger. When looking I saw that there was a very budget friendly option with plastic handles and an AUS-8 blade but for not much more they sold it with carbon fiber and a D2 blade. I couldn't say no!The blade is so sharp it's not funny! It makes quick work of anything you're trying to cut. The blade flies open and locks into place where it's rock solid steady, no wiggle at all. The size is perfect that you can carry it and it will practically disappear in your pocket. It has good ergonomics as well that it fits well even in my larger hands. The clip is solid as well.If I had one complaint is that the carbon fiber feels cheap. It's legit CF as far as I can tell but it doesn't look or feel as premium as say, my Ridge CF does.

Noice
Very nice. Very sharp out of the box. I have a rat 3 that had a burr on the blade out of the box, this rat 2 did not. Very impressed with how sharp. Carbon fiber looks nice as well.

Great knife, not so great carbon fiber
The blade on this model is great. I've had it for a few months now and although I've been rough on the edge with tons of boxes and cardboard it's still sharp (although it probably won't shave). The carbon fiber on it is not so great. It has held up fine, but the condition I received it in was not so perfect. The edges of the carbon where the screw holes are ALL have small fissures where bits of the acrylic/glue they use to cover the carbon have fractured off. I'm not sure if this is just my model, and it's not noticeable from a distance so I don't care but it's definitely something to be aware of.

This is the home tool that you want
This is the ideal knife to keep around the house, for everyday utility. The price is good, and the blade is good. The edge holds really well. Crazy sharp, right from the factory. I use it for opening up frozen dinners, cutting twine, zip ties, boxes, and so on. It has worked perfectly for that. I would not carry this knife as a tactical knife, as there are better choices for that. But for utility purposes, I could not be happier.

Most amazing knife for the money
Great tough knife for the money.I use mine daily and open boxes with brake rotors, and other hard metal items, d2 steel holds up great to the daily abuse. Not an easy knife to sharpen because of how hard the steel is, but also hard to get dull.

Well made tight, sharp and beautiful!
Beautiful scales and design. The d2 tool steel shreds paper very well. The reason I bought it was to shred strips of paper which it does better than any knife i have used. Several hundred foot of paper cut with only minor steeling or stroping on cardboard box. Well done!

Nice and compact, lightweight.
A little stiff but I am sure that will loosen up. Very well made, sharp and looks nice. Fits my hand really well too! I love it!
