Zinc plated, but if you tape off the rollers spray it black

No, its purpose is to keep the door from swinging open on its own. I use it for my screen door in an outside screen house.

Q: I have a 1and 13/16 thick door. Will it fir between the rollers?

Hi there. Yes it does with about 1/4" gap.

Q: Will this catch work with a regular house door ?

I have this latch on three screen doors and it works extremely except in very big wind gusts. Not sure about a regular door because of the weight of the door difference but it should. Give it a try on one door and evaluate.
