Great product at a great price
Tung oil is easy to use and really highlighted the character of the wood. Pure tung oil (no solvents) allows it to be used indoors, has a pleasant, nutty odor during curing

Excellent product
I've been treating my 42 year old deck with another product and it didn't last 6 months.I bought my dad's house and he built this deck 42 years ago. He sealed the deck with a oil like soak in conditioner. I thought it was Thompson water seal so that's what I used for years. The last 6 years it didn't work like it did before. This oil soaked right in and the wood is so nice and smooth. Color is natural which is a benefit. I don't want to use a stain.

Real deal and it’s great
The media could not be loaded. I am brand new to the TUNG oil deal. So like I always do, I did a ton of research online and found out that a lot of oils are mixtures of polyurethane, or have been modified in a way that they act more like a polyurethane rather than the original oil. TUNG oil takes a long time to dry, some people don’t like that it also can darken the wood and some people don’t like that. If that’s you, then don’t use it. It is kind of a pain but it’s kind of cool too because it soaks in and then you put more on and it soaks in when you put more on and it soaked in so it really weatherproof the wood. A lot better than just putting one of some sealant or something. I think so. Anyway, I built this table out of pallet wood and the TUNG oil really brought out the colors of the wood, or I guess it modified the colors of the wood, but either way, it looks really cool . I put on a coat, waited a few days put on another coat in a few days until I’ve had four or five coats on, and then I let it dry for a couple weeks and put some polyurethane on it. I had to do that because there was so much variant in the wood surface that I didn’t wanna have little places for milk and stuff to hide. Anyway, I highly recommend getting some orange oil to thin it for the first few coats so it’s easier to soak in because the stuff is really thick. I’ve coated my knife handles, my pizza peel, and basically all the wood stuff that I have in my kitchen because it is food safe, so that’s cool .

Wow!!!
After using boiled linseed oil on a few shelves, I decided to get Tung oil for my horse stable since it's nontoxic and not smelly. This stuff is amazing!!! Not irritating at all, even in small spaces. I thought oiling the entire barn was going to be a tedious task but since the results are so dramatic it's been pretty rewarding so far.

Good
Did what it was supposed to. I think I left a little extra on the surface and it did not even turn color or dull.

Nice and clean
Used it on an axe throwing target to help it stand up to the elements. Seems to be doing a great job. The oil comes out nice and clean, as you would expect

Superb and consistent quality
When choosing oils, I usually go with tung oil even though the "weight" is higher than most other oils. I've found the protection from it oil lasts longer than linseed or others. Hope's is my goto, and I never have a problem with it. Reasonably priced, and a high quality product. You always know you can count on it.Picture included shows my last project after protecting with Hope's tung oil and finishing it with a basic paste wax.

Takes a lot less on plywood
I didn't know how much I would need and the guides all WAAAAAAY over shot how much it would take for the square footage I was covering. I think the discrepancy probably came from the fact that I was covering maple cabinet grade sanded plywood, not solid lumber. Only the thin outer layer absorbs the oil, so I was able to cover everything I need to and still have a lot left over. I have since used it on solid pine trim and red wood trim with the same results: neither took a lot to cover. I live in the Mojave desert and used this product on hot days and found that it was dry and ready to go right away. One piece, I literally applied, and then immediately stapled in place. The other pieces I let set for several hours, even though they seemed to dry immediately. There was no difference to the plywood that was allowed to sit and cure for a week, over than the stuff that sat for a week ending up dirtier, for being outside for a week. Also, I found that 2 of the bottles I ordered came with the seal broken. They did arrive when it was stupid hot, so maybe they got hot in the delivery truck or something, but the directions say it spoils quickly, so I recommend checking the seal regularly if you are not using the day it arrives.Update: It's been several weeks now and the tung oil smell is still around. I find I have to open both windows before bed and get some air flow, or the stale oil smell will be too strong.
