Works well
I give this trap 5 stars because it is an excellent cage that is well built. The metal is tough yet lightweight to carry the cage easily. It is large enough even for a big cat or raccoon. The mechanics of the cage work really well. I even think the design is excellent because you do not have to do much to set this trap. It is also easy to set and no real force is needed to set it. This trap is also safe to set, as the well thought out design does not put fingers or hands in harm's way. I do, however, have a couple of issues with this product though. I am using my trap to relocate wild cats in my yard as the mama cat has litter after litter of babies on my property. I do not mind a few of these rascals, as they do keep the mice and rats populations in check for me. I also caught a possum one night that I took to a heavily vacant wooded area around my neighborhood. The directions for this is a small paper with some helpful instructions. I think this could be improved. I had trouble understanding exactly how this trap works from those directions. I have never used any kind of trap like this before - only rat and mouse traps until now. At one point when it says to put the rod in the back door through the top hole on both sides and the metal nuts on the door, this is wrong. The bottom hole has to be used for it to line up right. The large frame bar for that end also does not look like it will go over the end and under. I thought I was going to break that bar by forcing it, but it did not break. I could not understand how the door opened on the other end. I had to just play with it, and then I pushed on it and the door gave way. Then, I understood that the door folds in and up by pushing on the middle part. This is not explained well enough in the directions. Not for me anyhow. Nonetheless, I got it to work and I am catching my critters easily. The metal plate that is the trigger for the door to close could be a bit more sensitive. It does take some pressure for it to go off. The animal has to step on it for it to work. So, I put the bait food just after the metal plate up against the back door. The animal must step on the metal plate to reach the food, and the trap door is triggered. I find that covering the cage with something like burlap, tarp, or cardboard helps hid the cage and steers the animal's attention to the open door. I am glad I have this cage, and I would certainly purchase it again. I highly recommend it as it is a great product for the price.

Works Well. A little confusing to set up first time
Works very well. I have not used similar trap before. The included printed instructions and video were not great. But after I figured it out I'm catching squirrels every day. Good product.

Success ! Helps to bait with fruit bits.
Fairly easy to setup. Unit comes collapsed . Armadillo was the reason for purchase.

Critters Are Smarter Than This Design
While I have caught two squirrels, another animal knows to pull the metal bar controlling the bait plate out so it won’t get caught inside. My garden is turning into a wildlife smorgasbord.

I was skeptical
The media could not be loaded. I have a groundhog that has eaten half my garden. He was trapped in my yard and couldn’t get out because it’s fenced in. He also attacked my dog and bit her in the eye and she’s going blind. So I needed this guy out of my yard but did not want to harm him. I bought this trap and when it came in I was not sure it would work because it was smaller than I was expecting. I put it out with a nectarine and green beans as bait and went to work. A few hours later, the groundhog was caught in the trap! It worked great. He did hurt his nose from trying to ram the trap to escape but overall he was healthy. I let him outside of the fenced in area and opened the trap and he ran out. It worked perfectly! Well worth the purchase already!

Live trap
The raccoon I have been trying to trap takes the bait out of the trap and it never goes off. Still on my roof every night.
