Overall, while it does indeed create the 1.55x anamorphic effect with distortion, it introduces a variety of issues I didn't notice till post production, as well as some issues I noted in the video.First and foremost, you need a 17mm threaded compatible case. If you try to use the provided clip, the lens, will not be perfectly aligned, will shift, and will cover part of your screen. i show the installation with the provided clip in the video, it is not ideal but gets the job done.When filming, ensure you use an app such as Blackmagic Camera for iPhone that allows you to desqueeze anamorphic video to see the results live. This lens DOES do a good job with the extra information on the sides, in my video you can clearly see the difference when I take the lens off of how much information is gained/lost with it/without it.Now for the biggest issue in quality-- the blur and distortion. Edge distortion is great for these types of lenses, but for me, no matter how much I played with it, it always introduced blur that was not present without it. The film always looked fuzzy even in the center, and the edges especially. This is something often seen in cheaper lenses, and shown when comparing the M series to the T series Moment lenses. At this price though, you can get a used Moment lens, which I would recommend over this product.Likely will return in favor of a more well known brand.
