This grinder actually changed my workflow and espresso output for the better, by miles. Highly recommend the upgrade to this.

Very good home grinder
Mahlkönig makes some excellent grinders for commercial use. This appears to be their attempt to capture the enthusiast home barista.Overall, it is quite good. It is a "hopper" style, so you put a bunch of beans in the hopper and grind as necessary. I did not fill it to capacity, since I do not like beans sitting in there too long. Also, this is a very versatile grinder, where you can adjust the grind to fit the purpose, whether drip, French press, espresso, etc. And I use different beans for drip and espresso, so I never fill it up. I would guess that the capacity is somewhere around 10 oz, but do not hold me to that.Obviously, there is more plastic than in their commercial machines, but that is to be expected for a home unit. But having flat burrs definitely increases the quality of the grind. There was some retention when grinding, but that is to be expected with a hopper grinder. I even had that with my commercial-quality Mazzer Mini. The only issues I had were some difficulty occasionally dialing in the grind and coordinate it with the timer, but that was a minor issue. Also, if I tried to grind TOO fine, there was some clumping. Again, a minor issue for me.Overall, this is a very good home grinder which I will continue to use hoping to replace the two grinders I have now with one in order to save space. It is by no means one of those cheap little grinders. I think the only time somebody would focus on small deficiencies is if it is being compared to some its commercial cousins. That is not really fair, and obviously you are not paying commercial prices.I did not use the app yet, although it is intriguing that you can monitor the health of the burrs as well as look at any error logs, statistics, etc. Always good to have.

Stopped working
I bought this thinking it would be the last coffee grinder I would ever have to buy and within three months it has stopped working. The gears just froze up. I can’t return since the window has closed and I am heart broken and out $600.

the switch is glitchy
This is a great machine, however the first time we took it out of the box the switch was glitchy. We can still use the timed button so it still works but to manually add a little more grounds, you would normally press the button and it doesn't work. I am not sure if i should return it or if there is a way to fix the switch only.
