Nice thick mylar bags.
So far these are working out great. Been freeze drying some food items and they seem to be just the right size and thickness. Added plus is that they came with O2 absorbers. Plus the absorbers are packed in quantities of 10 which is a plus. I hate buying absorbers in packs of 100 and then you never know if they will be good the next time even after resealing. Easy to use. Was a great value for the money with everything that was in the box. Labels too.

Supports "boil in bag" meals; STURDY; cost-effective
Test:1. I opened empty bag and extended the bottom pleats. The Unit stood solidly by itself.2. I brought two cups of water to a rolling boil.3. I poured the water into the bag. NOTE: STEAM BURNS POSSIBLE FROM HOT WATER VAPOR, CAUTION WARRANTED.4. With the bag still standing by itself, I waited 20 minutes. NOTE: BOTTOM OF THE BAG IS H-O-T.5. NO leakage seen.Success:I have multiple #10 cans of Mountain House freeze-dried meals. IT WAS MUCH CHEAPER TO BUY A CAN W/10-17+ SERVINGS THAN THE $10 FOR TWO SERVING MYLAR POUCHES THEY SELL. Given the light weight, thin size, yet STRONG CONSTRUCTION OF THESE UNITS WITH "STAND BY THEMSELVES" CAPABILITY, I have added these bags to my "food backpack" with #10 cans. This is now a valuable, cost-effective part of my "pack light" approach.

Let you know when I have used them longer.
The size I ordered didn’t hold as much as I thought. I was thinking more like the same size plastic holds. However, if it prevents freezer burn, and keeps food fresher after freezing , it’s worth it. Haven’t used them long enough to know.
