K&F Concept 49mm UV Filter Ultra Slim Japan Optics Multi Coated Ultraviolet Protection Lens Filter with Lens Cap Cleaning Cloth (Nano-K Series)

I needed a UV filter to attach to the front of my camcorder and, because of the lens hood, it had to be slimline. My filter brand of choice has always been Hoya however even the thinnest Hoya I could find was simply too thick for what I needed so the only option was to find an alternative , hence I ordered the K&F ultra slimline UV filter.The build quality of the K&F Concept UV filter is superb, Okay, it feels a little fragile but this applies to all filters and none of the ones I have come across has felt what I would describe as bullet proof. Though fragile the overall finish and feel of this filter is great.In my experience all filters affect the image quality to some degree and the key is to find the filter that causes the least, or most unnoticeable effect on the image. The K&F ultra slimline filter does affect the image quality however you have to zoom in super close and go pixel peeping to see it, which makes it perfect for capturing video footage, i.e. the reason I ordered this filter.At £11.99 (at the time of review) this K&F filter is low priced, which when you consider the build quality and image quality, makes this top value for money and great bang for the buck.Overall, the K&F Concept ultra slimline filter is an excellent filter and perfect for camcorders. It is indeed thin (make that very thin), it is good quality and well made and, whilst it does affect image quality, you have to go pixel peeping which is something you simply don’t do with video footage.

Fits my Nikon 28-300mm thread perfectly, very thin profile, you can see the optical coating on the glass, and it doesn’t affect image quality.Came packaged with case, lens cap (which has good grip and is secure), a cord to thread thru the lens cap and attach to your camera body, plus a sealed microfibre cleaning cloth.A very good package and well worth the money for the peace of mind it affords your expensive glass.

Used as a lens protector and does the job perfectly

While I can’t measure whether this filter is reducing the UV content entering the lens I can say that it is clear does not decrease the light passing through it as the camera exposure values don’t change with or without the filter fitted, is well made and a reasonable price. So I’m happy with this product and would buy it again.

it's nice that it comes with its own cap instead of relying on the original lens cap to fit properly.
