Very Good at the price
Very pleased, used mostly for quiet background music to get to sleep although Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart may not be everyone's choice.

Tape Player low quality, does not work and chews cassette tapes
I switched the product on with domestic main power. The radio worked.I then inserted a tape cassette into the tape player and pressed play. I realised the tape was not playing and stopped the cassette. On opening the cassette drawer I could see that part of the tape had become unspooled and was trapped in the internal rollers. It could not be freed and the device is returned with the tape still trapped inside, as per the photographs

A great cassette player
I wanted to play my cassette tapes I recorded many years ago. This cassette player produces very good sound for the price and would highly recommend it. It has certainly brought back lots of memories!

Not half as good as reviews might suggest...encodes mp3 to MONO!!
I'll be honest, I treated myself to this on the strength of previous glowing reviews...and I don't think they are giving the full picture.Yes, it plays cassettes, yes it does radio and Bluetooth...but the speakers aren't as good as a £30 BT speaker. The radio is OK (let's be honest AM is just there for novelty value)...and it will play files from the USB input, but you'll need to sequence them yourself. The real reason I bought it was the ease of encoding cassettes onto a USB stick, which is reasonably easy to do...the end result is AWFUL in terms of sound quality. You hear the tape transport (motor) above the hiss, which is accompanied by a subtle phasing/flanging effect, which once noticed is really irritating. On top of that, the resulting mp3s are generated in MONO...really?! The encoding process also seems to result in the occasional 'skip' in a track, where it jumps a second or two.The end result is a really unsatisfying 'recording' that you won't want to listen to, and have wasted time and effort creating. If you want to recreate the experience of listening to decent recordings on a crappy 70s cassette player, then this might fit the bill, but if you're expecting to be able to get rid of those cassettes by mp3-ing them for future use, forget it. Unlistenable stuff. For over £40, I feel a bit conned really. Not recommended. Also interesting that all the five-star reviews are from folk who didn’t actually pay for the product…make of that what you will…
