Excellent Performance and Feature-Packed Motherboard!
This board has completely exceeded my expectations! From its build quality to the array of features, this motherboard could be a game-changer for building a high-performance PC.After comparing several motherboards in this price range, I chose the MSI Carbon because of its cutting-edge specs and MSI’s reputation for reliability. This motherboard delivers exceptional performance with support for the latest Intel processors and the DDR5 RAM compatibility provides unmatched speed and efficiency for demanding tasks like gaming and video editing. Plus, the PCIe 5.0 slots are perfect for future-proofing, ensuring I can use the latest GPUs and NVMe drives as they become available and cheaper. My favorite features would be the efficient cooling. The advanced heatsink design and M.2 Shield Frozr keep my system cool and stable, even during heavy gaming or multitasking. The price is slightly higher than some competitors, but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of quality and features. The MSI Z890 CARBON motherboard is a fantastic choice for enthusiasts and power users alike. It not only meets but far exceeds my expectations, delivering blazing-fast performance, excellent connectivity, and a polished user experience. I highly recommend this motherboard for anyone building a PC!

My first MSI Motherboard, Z890 Carbon Wi-Fi
I wanted to build as future-proof as possible PC and the MSI Z890 Carbon ticked the boxes in term of features vs cost. A discount from Amazon, combined with a promotion from MSI made this a bargain. I'd not built a pc in 17years and was totally blown away by the quality construction of the motherboard and the ease of the build. It has a reassuring heft to it due to the number of heat-sinks. the online manual is well laid out, the bios is logically laid out and the are a few useful YouTube video's to clarify things if your not sure.I've paired it with an NZXT C1500 power supply, NZXT H9 Flow case, Intel 285k processor, 4 x 32gb Crucial Pro OC DDR5 6400mhz ram , a be quiet Silent Loop 3 360mm cooler, 2 x ssd's (1 x MSI SPATIUM M480 PRO PCIE 4.0 NVME M.2 2TB and 1 x Crucial T500 2TB SSD PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2), 3 x 120mm DeepCool FT12 Fans in addition to the 4 silent Wing 4 fans that come with the case. A Noctua NA-FH1, 8 Channel Fan Hub for convenience , a couple of their cables andNoctua NT-H2 thermal paste.I'm currently using the onboard graphics whilst I get my head around the latest crop of graphics cards. The build was simple and straightforward, as was the installation of Windows 11. The bios update had my heart in my mouth as my screen went black for longer than I expected before showing the progress bar. It updated without issue. I'm now fine tuning my setup and enjoying every moment.I'd forgotten the enjoyment of building your own pc but the MSI Z890 Carbon has rekindled it (along side the H9 Flow case which made it easy for big hands). It has every up to date feature I want now along with an eye to the future. If anything unexpected happens, I'll update my review, but in the meantime I'm simply blown away.

A Feature-Packed Motherboard for Modern Builds
I purchased this motherboard to pair with an Ultra 7 265K CPU, specifically looking for a minimum of 16 Duet Rail support for potential overclocking in the future. It has exceeded my expectations in both performance and usability.Upgrading from a seven-year-old computer, I was pleasantly surprised by many modern features, like the Debug LEDs. When I forgot to reconnect the GPU power, the LEDs immediately pointed out the issue, and I even got a screen message saying the GPU wasn’t powered—a great troubleshooting aid.The four M.2 slots, including Gen4 and Gen5, deliver blazing speeds. I cloned a 1TB OS SSD at 5GB/s, and it worked seamlessly. The ssd installation was straightforward and the included heatsinks are great.Another key feature for me was the high-speed USBs on the backplate. It’s not just fast - via the JUSBC1 connector, it supports 27W Power Delivery for front USB ports, which is ideal for fast charging my devices. The CPU power socket placement is another thoughtful design element. Positioned in the top-right corner, it avoids interference with large coolers like my Noctua NH-D15. In my previous build, the left-leaning sockets caused headaches during assembly, so this was a welcome improvement. The BIOS, as of August 2024, already has updates available. The backplate includes Clear CMOS and Flash BIOS buttons, which are incredibly useful. I used the CMOS button after enabling Fast Boot in the BIOS and locking myself out.Overall, I’m very satisfied with this motherboard. It’s well-designed, packed with features and handles demanding tasks effortlessly.
