A great product
This is a wonderful way to learn how to speak a new language. The lessons or units (as the narrator says) start off with simple conversations which are then broken down into words and those words are then broken down into sounds. I found myself picking up the new sounds and words very quickly. As you progress through the units, the conversations that are presented get a little longer and a bit more complex. The pace of each unit was excellent. There was enough time to repeat what the speaker said, but not so much that the flow of the conversation was lost.I should say that I did study Hebrew many years ago for a short time, so some of the units were a review of sorts, rather than something brand new.The only thing with which I had an issue was the fact that there is no printed material with this set of CDs. Some of the sounds in Hebrew can be difficult to understand without having something written to verify the spelling of certain words. Luckily, I am around people who speak Hebrew, so I was able to consult them for clarification of some words though any good English/Hebrew dictionary should be able to help you if use the Pimsleur course.I have also used the German version of this course, and it was also very good for basic understanding of a new language.

Excited for the next lesson
I just finished the 1st lesson (2nd Track). It starts with a short conversation in Hebrew. Through the lesson I thought, "I'm not getting this at all." But then, towards the end of the lesson, they replayed the original conversation. I was shocked that I actually understood what was being said. Now, could I repeat the conversation? Not really. But, I had come to understand what was being said. Our educational system should use this. Having taken 2 years of German in High School; I know nothing. In one week I understood a simple Hebrew conversation. Oh, one more thing. I'm over 60. Take heart. You can learn it too.

Easy to learn
This is my first attempt at learning a different language as an adult and it has been pretty easy to pick up just by listening. I have a friend that is currently living in Israel and I have been practicing my conversational Hebrew and I was told I am doing very well. The only bad thing I have to say, the pronounceability with the man is different from the woman. I am not talking about the male female differential but the way common words are said. Also, I have caught the male saying a word in english as he was supposed to be saying it in Hebrew, but it isn't keeping me from learning the Hebrew or causing any confusion, just seems like that should have been something caught in the recording process. I am very happy how easy it is to learn just to speak in this language.

Trust me, it works
I have Pimsleur for French but my boyfriend and his friends as well as family all speak Hebrew so I bought this one too: because it works. I understand some Hebrew but can't make sentences on my own; the first lesson was amazing and I can't wait to do the second today. I saw a review for this product and someone said they wish they could see the words...well that would be hard unless you can read Hebrew and if that were the case then you wouldn't need this program.Pimsleur breaks down every syllable of each word so I promise it is not hard. Trust me, this company knows what they are doing.

Shalom (hello) & (Good-bye) literally (hows your peace).
It is repetitive speaking. Once said in English, then repeated in Hebrew. I am on lesson 5 in the course. I listen on way to work and home. There is no literature, just CD's. I had to repeat several lessons to get the words to stick. But I am learning phrases/greetings/etc. The language is harder than I expected because of certain sounds in Hebrew we do not speak in English. Almost like trying to speak while choking. The course gets harder has you progress. Once you learn a word, the way you would use it in a sentence the sound of the word may change because it runs into another word and part of the first word is not used. Difficult for me to grasp, so I have to keep repeating the lesson before I proceed. For no more than I paid for it approx $25 USD it is worth it and fun to learn something different. Hebrew is read right to left but you don't have to worry about that, but in the sense phrasing of sentences seems back-word also compared to English.

so easy!
Great system, I used this on my commute to work. I finished the cds and now I want to get the complete set. I was getting through a lesson every few days. I was really remembering what I was learning and I still remember some stuff, although I can definitely use a refresher since its been a few months since I've reviewed.

Pimsleurs' way
The cds are okay but it would and could be better with a book or booklet to go along with it to aid in rememberring each lesson.
