I love this rug in my living room to layer on. It definitely does not look real but the colors are just like the picture.

The rug came rolled which I really appreciate since some rugs like this arrive folded and it takes a long time to get the creases out. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't as large as expected. The measurement of width is at the widest part which would be the back legs of the animal. The rest of it is much narrower and it didn't end up filling the space I had intended. I had a larger faux cow skin rug and I ended up using this on on top of it to give it some interest. I almost can't tell they are two separate rugs in the photo. Unfortunately for as pretty as this rug is, it's very thin with a velvety backing that allows it to move all over. Those that ended up hanging it on a wall or using it to cover a table or sofa back have the right idea. This is not the kind of rug that is going to hold up to any foot traffic at all. All you can do is shake it out and spot clean. A vacuum might pull out the tufts of fur or remove the gold foil accents. I really do enjoy the feel of it. It has a bit longer fur than my larger rug and looks more real because of it. It just isn't quite the quality it should be for a rug of this price.

I used this cowhide as wall decor in my dining room. The size was perfect and came in great condition. I was super happy with the price for the quality.

I love using this as an accent piece under a side table or across my bed. Versatile piece. No issues with shedding or chipping of gold pieces but I won’t place it in a high foot traffic area. Had a few small wrinkles but easy to fix or ignore.Shown: 4x5, Gold/Off White

I just finished washing this rug again and felt the need to write a review.The rug had a little crease when I first got it but it flattened out after a couple of days. I wasn't sure about the gold bits of paint but I like them now. They look good in the room.The rug lays directly on the terrazzo floor. It doesn't really slip around, although it is a thin rug so it might if it got more traffic. The dogs sleep on the rug so I shake it out almost every day. I wash it in cold water on the delicate cycle in the washing machine about every one or two months. I air dry it outside. It dries pretty quickly.It's lasted more than two years and is still beautiful. I definitely recommend buying it!

Doesn't hold up. Poor Quality. Hair falling out, bald spots.Had put the rug in back room of our family cabin, that we only go to 1 time a month. Rug lasted 2 months.Can't imagine it would last more than 1-2 days in normal household area. Bought End of February, by April 13th, date of this review, rug was usuable. Looked like it had the mange.
