Cheap little set but seen to be holding up for my little ninja.

These Samurai Katana swords are the perfect size for 5 year olds. They are cheapo like the a dollar store item, but the entertainment value is priceless! Especially for a kid into ninjas and Aikido. I'm glad that they are in a set of two, so our older granddaughter can join in. I intend to borrow these for my pirate outfit, if he lets me. A totally fun plastic toy that seems well-enough made and the length makes it easy to practice some cool sword fighting moves!

So I ordered this item to give as a stocking stuffer to my 5 year old grandson. I am a chronic over-buyer for the holidays so this kid was not hurting for gifts... He received lots of electronic toys with flashing lights and sounds as well as action figures that he specifically requested, among many other much more expensive gifts. These two plastic swords were the only thing he wanted to play with. And not only that but my 3 year old GRANDDAUGHTER constantly tried to steal them from him all day and play with them herself (in spite of the fact that she, too, received many electronic toys, lots of makeup, barbie dolls, craft kits, etc.!! The swords are very cute and made very well with snug fitting sheaths just like a pirate. They aren't the long ones that you normally see for little kids, they are shorter and easier for 3 and 5 year olds to hold onto and play with. They were definitely the hit of Christmas. The kids played with them for hours and had many fights over them - which isn't fun for the adults to break up but it just means that this is a kid tested and KID APPROVED toy!! Pro tip: Order a set for every single kid in your household or on your street... It will cut down on the fights if they all have their own! A+++, highly recommend!

These swords are low quality toys. But at this price, it's as expected. My 4 years old daughter has been asking for ninja swords that are sold from Legoland. Those single swords are double the price of this but at even lower quality. So, I think this is a good deal.

Nicely made overall. Paint looks good and there's no very obvious plastic molding issues like on a lot of toy weapons. The blade stays secure in the hilt very well and also inside the scabbard. The only thing I don't like is that there's some space inside the scabbard and the blade wags around inside leading to a lot of rattling.
