I was excited to try this when I ordered it. When I got it and looked at it, I was less enthused and didn't expect to like it because it was NOT appealing/attractive looking in the tube, and the color was not going to look good on me. I give the makeup I don't like to the kids to play with and I thought this was definitely going to end up in their collection of cast-offs.I was wrong. And I should have known better, maybe.Like I said... it didn't look very attractive in the package (see photo). When I tested it on the back of my hand, it was very smooth, glossy and lightly pigmented. I really had to use quite a bit of product to get the color on the swatch I provided.IMPORTANT: THIS IS A NON-RETRACTABLE PRODUCT.I am putting that in big bold letters because my stupid butt tried to twist it a few different times before I realized you need to click the bottom and it pushes the gloss up. This is important to note because a little goes a LONG way with this product, probably because of the oil and vitamin e. The little clicky is SUPER satisfying if you like that kind of thing (and I really really do clicky noises). You do not want to get click happy with this product because you can't get it back and you really only need a little bit.The color is subtle. While they say it is buildable, if you want a high color payoff then this is not the product for you. This is not something you want to build because of the consistency of the product. This will give you a touch of color and lots of moisture with a quick swipe. I do not think you should attempt to build the color with this because it will get sticky/uncomfortable the thicker it gets.The gloss was nice. It did look like a gloss and not greasy like some oil-based lip products do. It slides on super smooth. The color is very nice and because it is so sheer I think it has potential to look good on anyone or layer over a higher pigmented product nicely.It left my lips feeling good for a really long time after using it, even though the light color faded. My lips feel pretty good today after using it yesterday. I think it would be very easy to remove.I'm happy. I would order again.

I’m really happy I gave this Neutrogena High Shine Glossy Lip a try! I picked up the Sweet Raspberry shade and while it looked a little bolder in the tube than I expected, it actually goes on as a soft, sheer berry tint that’s super flattering and easy to wear. It adds just enough color to freshen up my look without feeling overdone.The texture is smooth and lightweight — not sticky at all — and it leaves my lips feeling so soft and hydrated. I love that it has Maracuja oil and Vitamin E because my lips tend to get dry, and this keeps them feeling nice even after the gloss wears off.The click-up applicator took me a second to figure out (don’t twist it, just press the bottom), but it’s kind of fun once you get the hang of it. Just be careful not to click too much because it’s a one-way deal and you really don’t need a lot of product per use.Overall, it’s a great everyday gloss with a healthy shine and nourishing feel. I’ve already tossed it in my bag to have with me on the go and will definitely be grabbing a couple more shades soon!

I ordered the Neutrogena High Shine Glossy Lip in Black Dahlia. From the product photos I expected this to have a very opaque pigmentation. However, it's a sheer formula that truly is buildable to go from barely there to deeply translucent (though not opaque.) The product goes on smoothly and leaves my lips feeling moisturized. It's a comfortable formula that I can wear all day.

On a regular basis, I wear lipstick to work every day. I consider this weekend wear -- and it's perfect. I like a nice lip gloss, but I find that many are too gloppy or glooky or sticky. This one is just right. It gives shine, but I don't feel like I'm dealing with a thick coating that makes my lips stick together or has little "shards" of gloss sticking up. It goes down smoothly, and it actually stays on for a really long time. The color is light and delicate. The sweet raspberry gives off just enough color that you get some definition to your lips. It's definitely not a lipstick, so if you're looking for that, look elsewhere. Even though I don't wear it this way, it goes smoothly over lipstick if you want to hydrate your lips while having full color with a lipstick. Since you need only one swipe across upper and lower, it's a great deal price-wise.

I really love the color of this lip gloss, but I am not a fan of the design. It is very confusing because the top part of the applicator is clear and you see so much of the product and it looked like the whole thing was sticking out. The lip gloss itself is a beautiful shade of red and looks great on my lips, but it's just way too sticky for my preference. I'm a woman in her 50s so this may be better for someone younger.

This is an amazing product and just as good as I expected since it is a Neutrogena product. I wasn't sure if I was going to like the peach color but when it goes on it's really entirely neutral. It also goes on nicely and is not at all sticky. The fact that it came with two makes us even a better value. I love the Shimmer and how it feels on all day. Oh and it's entirely tasteless.
