Excellent purchase - so far, so good
I don't know why but I cannot use a normal bike (either on-the-road or static) due to the shape of the saddle. I tried a recumbent exercise bike whilst on holiday and found it to be much more comfortable than a conventional one, so when I saw this Sunny Exercise Bike (at a very reasonable price), I decided to give it a try. It has now become a great addition to my exercise routine: it is simple to use and I can easily spend a half hour on it while watching tv and I don't really notice that I'm exercising. The noise levels are low (so far) but I've not been using it for long. I wouldn't say that I get as good a workout as I do on the cross trainer but every little helps and I don't dread going on it! The bike itself is well made and feels very solid, much more so than my previous conventional exercise bike which wobbled, especially if I worked up speed. It came well packaged with clear instructions of how to put it together: the main base unit came as one part so it was much easier and more convenient to move upstairs. My husband put it together and he had no problems, though it took him over an hour to do so. I would say the bike is aimed at someone who wants to keep fit but is not aiming for professional levels of fitness - maybe a more "mature" person! I think this is definitely a machine for home use as it doesn't have a huge range of resistance levels or fancy computer screen etc but, as someone who just wants to keep moving and hopefully trim (and maybe lose a bit of weight), it is ideal.

Decent Low Seated Exercise Bike
Arrived quickly and on time. This was bought for an octogenarian lady with parkinsons to make it easier for her to continue her daily exercise routine due to the low seat, back rest, side bars to hold onto and front 'handle bars' to aid in alighting from the bike. A normal style exercise bike had become too dangerous to use due to the height of the seat. Assembly time was an hour and the instructions were simple but detailed and to the point. A nice touch was separately packing and labelling the bolts and washers for each step. Tools are included but I would advise you to use your own as they are made of soft metal and did not survive to end of construction. The only part where I required a second pair of hands was attaching the tension wire and three electronic wires from the main body to the connectors for the computer display. It would be possible to do alone but swearing would have ensued. The connectors are idiot-proof and although they may look similar will only connect to the correct corresponding connector. (Try saying that after a few drinks!)The bike is quite sturdy but easy to move around due to the angled transport wheels to the rear. I'm a fairly fit male, in my fifties and could easily just pick it up and move it from garage to house. The recipient has now tested it out over a couple of weeks and has found it superb in helping her continue her exercise routine. She feels secure and confident enough in the low position and can easily use the side bars or front bars by the bike computer to safely get on and off. The sliding seat control is easy to use and secures the seat firmly. The bike computer appears to work well, is simple to use and comes with easy to understand instructions. In operation it is quiet enough to easily watch television or listen to music whilst exercising. All in all we are both very impressed with the purchase and would recommend.

Good for the price; some shortfalls but overall excellent value
The assembly took about an hour. It is helpful that the bolts were in separate packs for each step. The tricky part is connecting the electric and tension cables between the top and bottom sections. The cables are held in place with flimsy elastic bands to stop them falling into the tubes - which if they did would be and end of the whole assembly process. Once put together feels sturdy and operates smoothly and quietly. The tension control could do with some higher settings - even on max not that much resistance but ok for my needs. Quite comfortable to sit on for extended periods. I did have one issue though - the pulse grips were not working and did not display a reading in the monitor. I decided to accept a partial refund as everything else was fine and I did not want to have to dismantle and reassemble another one.

Get what you pay for...
Well it turned up on time, I set about assembling it right away. With the help of the OH it was quite simple to put together using the tools provided. Quite a well thought out product. I did put the first support bar on upside down at first, soon noticed and rectified it. All the hardware bags are separated step one through to six so you know what screw/bolt goes where. Nice touch. We got it all built reasonably stress free taking our time. OH dived on first for a test run, we didn't like the pedals or the pedal straps, feel really cheap but functional. It felt quite smooth and although there was some flex from the frame it wasn't excessive. Then we tried to change the tension, OH says there's hardly anything in steps 1 to 8. So I tried myself, very disappointed. There was no change at all, so I thought the cable may have come astray as I put the bars on. So off came the bars, cable was still in place, so I moved the tension dial and saw that it wasn't moving the cable at all. This part is factory pre assembled, I'm guessing the cable isn't attached at that end for some reason. There's four screws to access it but I'm not delving in and voiding any warranty. It MAY be an easy fix? But having seen the quality of this I'm happy to send it back rather than mess about fixing it. I'll get my refund and spend a little more next time.Lack of quality control again from Amazon, really annoying as we've spent our time assembling this and waiting for it to arrive. Now I have to wait for a refund until they decide to collect it!! Not really good enough Amazon.
