Happy Hubby!
I bought this for my hubby who is an Army soldier. He works in a lab and constantly is washing his hands so I needed to find him a watch that not only matched his ACU's but was durable and water-resistant to boot. This watch is really awesome. I love the big face, it's easy to read, quick on/off thanks to the velcro and it's just a good, solid design. Can take a beating and not get all beat up/scratched up. Definitely worth the money.

Good watch with a few shortcomings.
The good:The nylon-velcro strap is quick to remove and put back on, and will probably hold up to abuse longer than rubber or metal. The watch looks great! I love the bulky sci-fi/military feel, and the dot matrix display makes it look more expensive than a typical seven-segment LCD.The electroluminescent backlight is bright, and looks much nicer than the cheap single LED found in a lot of digital watches. The bad:The strap is annoyingly scratchy against skin. I'm not sure if it would wear, and get better with time, but I sped the process along by running a hot iron along it, slightly melting the nylon and smoothing it out.The lower-right button toggles DST on or off with a single push. I could see myself accidently triggering this, and showing up somewhere an hour late/early. There is a small text indicator for it on the display, but it would be easy to miss. The alarm could stand to be a little louder for waking up in the morning, but works fine otherwise.Other thoughts:It ships with an unnecessary piece of nylon running under the stainless steel back, and velcroing to the other side. This causes the watch to stick out awkwardly, and catch on backpack straps and other clothing. I was annoyed enough to remove it by melting through the strap with a hot soldering iron. This will fuse the nylon strands so that it won't unravel. The watch fits much more comfortably now.

The best investment while traveling abroad
Used this bad boy on my trip to Cambodia and I must say that it was my best investment of the entire trip. I was on a diving internship so I had to take this watch +15 meters underwater twice a day for an entire month and it still worked like a charm. It was also rainy season in the country and worked completely fine. The watch face is just perfect, and I have a skinny wrist to begin with, so I don't know where people are getting that it is too big. Other than that, it can take a beating. Was climbing trees, picking up rocks and doing a lot of hard work, but this watch never left my side. Just buy it already.

Strap broke after 2 mos
I don't wear watches because they always bust but thought I'd give it a try again because this watch looks tough! I loved it as soon as I got it and began wearing it. After about 2 mos I was putting my shirt on and the watch got hung in my sleeve so I gave it a push to unhang it and the strap broke right at the spot where it connects to the watch. I think this is the weakest spot. Other than that it was a good watch but I don't think it will withstand the abuse of an active person. I was just putting my shirt on not doing parkour through a briar patch. For the price it was worth a shot to give watches a chance but it was a no go.

the band is comfortable and brakes very quickly
My first one lasted 7 years..the band and fasteners ar totally reliable and never came loose..the illuminator is made to be low light for stelth..the protective plastic view cover got scatched up..but its recessed and lower than the rubber shock protective jacket.the band is comfortable and brakes very quickly..my second purchase only lasted a few months because it got moisture inside and the display glitched..but i think its because i used a heavy duty cleaner on it.. ultimately I'd recommend buying one..one of my favorite all time watches..i cant wear a metal watch..

Stout great looking watch is quirky
I really like the way this watch looks. However they use very course hook loop fastener that really rubs and irritates my skin for the 1st month. The the buttons are huge and can be accidentally pressed. This primarily results in a top of the hour chirp going off when I don't want it. It also will switch between daylight savings time and standard time accidentally. I have to push a button every time I want to know what time it is to see if it's in daylight savings time or standard time. This is my biggest complaint. Also the light is very dim which makes it difficult to read the time in the dark.
