Q: The stainless bowl is not included.. where can I find that in being the right size?

Same can't find way to put water to where to place water stainless bowl does not fit for a fact tried few different ones i like cage but terrible for feeding and watering need accessories built for it so can get bigger feeder and water

Q: Has anyone got cover to protect the birds in this cage from cold?

I haven’t, I live in. Virginia and my cage stays indoors, in the summers I simply roll it outside and the birds enjoy it.

Hello, I also live in Northern California. This cage resides on my covered front porch and has served me well. I do not think there would be a problem with rain relative to the roof, because it has a very sturdy waterproof roof. But rain can blow in from the sides if totally exposed. The bottom of the cage forms a lined waterproof drawer. I fill that with cat litter to absorb droppings, and the moisture from his birdbath. How that would work if exposed to significant rain I don't know. Perhaps a couple of holes drilled into the bottom drawer would allow the rain to drain. This is a very nice, sturdy cage, well designed and saw my rescued injured starling through last winter. I sealed off parts of it with bubble wrap and plexiglass, and the cage was covered at night, during the very cold weather, but through the rest of the year is open to the sun and weather.
