Get a lot for your money
In using metal powders for cold casting, I found this particular powder which has a much larger graininess to it, not as fine, which adds a much sought after texture, when applied as a coating. It is nearly black in color and only lightens up a bit after mixing with the resin to a medium to dark grey color. Again, that only occurs having cured the resin powder coating for 24 hours and then knocking the dust off having made a slurry and then dusted afterwards and following up with a (welding) wire brush to further remove the top layer of resin and particulates.Depending on how you go about the process will determine if it stays true to its original black color or not. I use black shoe polish to darken it once again. Leaving it on around 45 minutes and wiping it back off.Compared to the price for much finer powders, this is a steal at 10 lbs vs the usual 1 lb purchased of other types and depending on the projects it is used for, will last a really long time.

Used to make custom magnetic frames.
I mix this with clear epoxy resin to make custom magnetic frames/inductors for hobby electronics. Initial tests are good.

Consistent product
I use this to make Orgonite and it works amazing!! I just wish you could buy a cost effective 20 pounds of it.

Product is great, but shipping is late
The product itself is top notch.Shipping is not consistent. Package rarely arrives at expected date. They let you know day of when it’s originally supposed to arrive, that it will be late. Very frustrating when I use for my business, it then in turn makes my orders late.

Magnet fun
My 13 year old made magnets out of plastic water bottles. It’s fun! Whoever else bought this I encourage everyone to share ideas. What fun science ideas do you use this for? We’ve got a lot left. I’ll donate it to the school

Using for oxide wash on ceramics
It works as an oxide wash, but I don't think that was it's intended use. Particle size is a little large to penetrate well into bisque surface and oxides specifically made for that purpose have a more finely ground and sieved product. I am soaking some in water now to see if it further reduces and works better with my other oxides.

Mapping magnetic fields with the powder
Someone asked how the iron powder looks under magnetic field lines. I took some pictures to share.
