Overpriced, contains errors
First and foremost the book is highly overpriced when compared to books of similar nature available in the market. We were expecting some value add from the book in our kid's learning, but to our horror we realized the book is full of errors! One good example of this error would be placing of Armadillo pics - if the kids were to read the pictures and learn, according to the book Armadillos can be found at Mount Everest Base camp and Africa also! A simple search on net shows that this is not the case.Overall, the book has been disappointing considering we bought it for our 6 year old. This might be suitable for kids of younger age who would be awed with glossy & colorful pages and happy to just play with stickers. But even then, there is no excuse for errors in a book at this price point.

high quality book, very nice illustrations
the usefulness of this book depends on which age group you are looking for. if you are looking for something truly informative for older kids, you will be disappointed. i needed something that my 2yo and 3yo can sit quietly and browse on their own. something with lots of pictures that i can point out to them and show them so they recognize some crucial world identifiers. works very very well for that.. from different kids of animals (elephant, tiger, giraffe, whales, penguins) to different kinds of landscapes (forest vs desert vs ice/glaciers vs mount Everest) to key world monuments (pyramids, Eiffel tower etc) to things like gondolas in Venice and taxis in New York - my kids and i can honestly spend long minutes poring over each of the pages talking through some of the things we see on the page. the illustrations are child friendly - and not real life pictures. so it doesn't feel like a encyclopedia. plus there is very little actually in terms of text - which is great for my use. just labels on the pictures. it does mean that i might need to do a little background research sometimes but for most cases generic talking points are great to bring the structures to life for the kids. there are some activity pages (color pages, mazes) and sticker sheets which we haven't paid attention to since those are for older kids. the build quality of the book is great - nice thick paper that should withstand use and abuse by kids.
