PT-109 Wooden Boat Kit by Dumas

Kit is well made and instructions sheets easy to read, model is big in size with many cast metal parts.The paint scheme calls for all green, if you Google PT boats you can get a lot of info on the boat and different paint schemes, if you spend some time on this model you will have a real show piece

This is not one of those models you can just trim, glue and paint. I most be able to read instructions and take cues from missing instructions or pictures. But the kit makes it very easy to add or change things the designers did not plan. Like using 3 motors, speed controllers and props, or adding lighting. Minus 1 star for instructions or details not suitable for basic modelers

Nice wood model, not for the beginner. I've built other similar R/C boats, this one is a little rough around the edges but not insurmountable. Not for rivet counters but also not intended as such. The price is good. My boat looks great on the water!!! Even better when its speeding along!!! I would definitely recomend this model kit to anyone with a little experience!!!

I do not like the pvc planking. I used woodI think the book that comes with the boat could have more explanations and h0w to do.

The model is still in process and because of the detail and somewhat limited drawings will require several morehours to complete. The bass plywood used is prone to break very easily and requires some patch work whichdetracts from the internal appearance of the model . The drawings are helpful but not to scale which wouldhave been helpful.

When i opened the box the plastic bag for the hardware (cleats, gun parts, etc...) had been cut open and the parts were scattered all over. I have not yet inventoried, but Not happy that the contents had been tampered with.

This was a gift. We were very excited about the boat. It looks very complicated, but it also contains extensive instructions.

I received the kit within 5 days. The only problem with it was the wood pieces for the hull was really dry and broke making it very difficult to put together. I believe that maybe it had sat in a warehouse for a couple of years before it was shipped out to me to fill my order.
