It is small kibble. I gave it to 4 of my rescue pups ( who all weighed 1 & 1/2 lbs at 6 weeks....it is a wonderful food and they are all healthy and happy living in their new homes! Mix it with a tablespoon of warm water and a teaspoon of Merrick's puppy canned food. It goes a long way with pups that small.Buy it!!
