Solid build Easy to fit
A leak at the back of the downstairs toilet proved to be as a result of Mr Rat gnawing a hole in the plsic connectio between the pan and the outside pipe.Looked at various reviews on YouTube and here on Amazon and selected this Ratflap for its apparent simplicity. It was indeed easy and quick to fit, The instructions are on line and were easy to follow. Hopefully no more leaks and less chance of coming face to face with Mr Rat in the toilet bowl. Sturdy build in quite heavy gauge stainless steel. Hopefully will last for some time.Been over 4 years now. I lift the lid occasionally just to check. Working as good as new Never any blockages and no rat has visited since. 👍

Perfect and Easy Rat Solution
Superb solution to Rats attempting to gain access via the drain to our new home. Vermin control guy out me onto to it, he even told me how to self install. Very easy to install yourself if you are a DIYer, if you watch your hygiene and clean up. Just check your measurements and make sure you install it the right way round. Just slid into place and is a firm grip within the sewer pipe ( accessed via garden grid closest to the house.

It works!
Rats now kept out of our attic. 12 months of listening to rates above us at night. Tried poison with little success. Fitted 2 of these and the problem disappeared. Easy to fit and sturdy-looking, so should hopefully be a long-term solution.

Sort of works
Was a little difficult to install and not spring loaded and on first night rat got past it and was at the back of the toilet so am still a week later putting brick up against it for the night which is a bit of a pain, think with a spring mechanism could make it 5 stars, have bought 2 so going to persevere with it, they will be removed and replaced with another item if it fails to stop rat ... sort of working at the moment

Top Quality flap
Quality product. Well made, simple design with quality stainless steel. As photo shows product fits into clay pipe nice and snug. Old Mr rat will go through a few sets of front teeth and still not get past this. Pricy but well worth the cost.

No more rats after 5 years of warfare!
I'm not the greatest of DIYers, but after being told to fit one by a local RAT CATCHER, i had a go and it was pretty easy. Since fitting it i've had no rats which is great after 5 years of battling with them. Fit it in the drain down stream of your property and upstream if you share a drain with your neighbour and stop the furry friends getting into your drainage system and into any burrows they've created by gnawing through your drain pipes underground. We reckon they'd done just this and had then made a burrow under the house and up behind the toilet.

Poorly made and unsuitable fittings supplied
I’ve just added a new inlet to the main sewer at an existing manhole and, as the other inlet had a rat flap fitted I thought it prudent to make sure all inputs to the manhole had such a trap fitted. The product was not a good fit within the standard size clay sewer inlet pipe and it had to be squeezed together to make installation possible. However, squeezing the outermost part of the unit had the effect of causing the inner moving part to jam against the outer fixed part.I had to remove the unit several times and put the moving part in a vice to squeeze it together to reduce its width and thereby stop it from jamming.Eventually, after about 2 hours of re-engineering I got it installed and working as it should. The supplied washers are too small for the looped metal safety wire and it was still possible to detach the looped metal wire simply by pulling it around the washers. I had to buy some larger stainless steel washers to make it attach as it should. There was a nylock nut and bolt provided to attach the looped metal wire to the unit but nothing to attach the other end of the wire to the inner wall of the manhole. There were no instructions supplied - just a leaflet advertising other ‘fine’ products made by the company. At this price for a relatively small amount of stainless steel with a simple mechanism I was expecting something much better.I don’t think it should have been for me to in effect re-engineer it and buy extra parts like the washers but thankfully I could do both myself.Poor value for money in my opinion.
