Works as it should

Bought the unit to miter steel tubes since mitering on the vertical mill wasn't working out well. Initial cuts were off center, with one tang of the cut being too long, and the other too short. I removed the mounting block (which positions the shaft) and machined off .010" at a time, which helped align the cutting tool with the center of the tube. It finally aligned after .035" was machined off the mounting block. The block alloy was relatively soft, and machined easily. It's working well for me now, but if you don't have access to a bridgeport to modify this unit, you may want to consider carefully before purchasing.

This is a great product. I have had several tubing notchers of various brands over the years, and this is by far the best of them. It is very stiff compared to Harbor freight and similar. I am currently fabricating an exoskeleton cage for my truck, and this notcher is getting a lot of use. To get it dead on center, I needed to add a thin shim washer to the center nut, which is to be expected.

Works great, needs a little shimming to get it dead on center And the angle finder sticker on it is basically useless so takes some know how to set it up at the angle you want, I use a digital angle finder.

The media could not be loaded. Cuts a little off center but that's probably the machinist in me talking. Let it feed on its own or you'll experience what is shown in the video.

I had to replace many hand rails. I originally bought a pipe template and planned on just using a grinder. This is so much easier, faster, and more accurate. Use lots of lube on shaft and pipe. Take your time and get great results

I have not used it yet but just from setting it up, it is very rigid. Thick metal and quality parts. It's a simple design like the others but appears to be a much better quality in time making it and material. It also comes with a free hole saw (sizes might vary but mine was a 1-3/4").

After being up in the air about buying a tube notcher for about 6 months i finally pulled the trigger and am very pleased. This notcher streamlined my coping process. Cages and rock sliders now have perfect fit up. The holesaw that comes with it is solid and good quality. Overall I would highly recommend
