Q: Is this good for mountain hiking? How is it when comparing with Cascades Explorer jacket?

Hi Huy, Both jackets are nice and each has their uses. The Ascender jacket has a tightly woven shell exterior which is nice against the wind, but doesn't have much fleece on the inside for insulation. The Cascades jacket is all fleece, so is able to insulate against the cold. But if there is any wind , it will go straight through. The best of both worlds would be to have a fleece jacket on with some sort of wind shell over the top of the fleece. When it gets too warm, start shedding layers. Hope this helps.
