Good fun!
I used a “Bon Tool 66 in. Replacement Wood Handle for Asphalt Lute Rake 1.25 inch with Square Handle End” for the handle of my spear from Home Depot. Made of hickory, this is the strongest and best fitting taper I found after trying a dozen or more different broom sticks and tool handles.I made another for my daughter using an “Adult Bo Staff. Size: 6ft One End Tapered Grip Tape: Black Serpent Top of Staff Pro” from Hurricane Tiger. Made of Chinese wax wood, this is smaller in diameter but a good flexible alternative for speed. That one I filed and sanded to create the correct taper (about eight hours). For both, I wrapped where needed with Escrima Stick Black Grip Tape.I also decorated both with Horsetail Tassels Oversized in red ponytail cherry from eBay.Beautiful. Fortunately, both of mine were mostly symmetrical. For sheaths try “12" long custom handmade leather sheath fits up to 7" - 8" cutting blade” from Sparkandblades on Etsy. They fit perfectly. Just make sure the leather stain is completely dry. Mine were not and they’re still in my dehydrator.

BEST “PRIME ELIGIBLE” SPEARHEAD AVAILABLE!
Solid construction and a VERY sharp point. The edges do need to be sharpened, if you want it to actually work like a real spearhead, but all in all a GREAT product for a great price. I bought a 60” broom handle (already stained dark) and some small #7 (3/8in) screws from HomeDepot, all for $8.75, so overall this spear was about $60. All that being said, I DO see what that one reviewer meant about not symmetrical, because the spearhead is THE SLIGHTEST BIT uneven, but barely noticable (see pictures). Also, side note, I think I’m going to upgrade to a longer shaft, probably a 72” oak closet rod, which I will have to sand down and stain on my own.

Nice and blunt edge the way it should be.
Is solid and heavy, I like... I have always wanted Another project :)

Quality spear head for a very reasonable price!
Well-made, sturdy and strong, this is an EXCELLENT spearhead, if I had anything to complain about, it would be that the taper should be shallower to fit a standard broom/mop handle instead of the larger(and heavier) rake/shovel handle. One of the best commercial spearheads I've ever seen or purchased.

Nice spearhead
Nice spearhead for the money. Not exactly symmetrical, but you wouldn't notice unless you really stare at it in detail. For photoshoots (which is my intended purpose), it will work just fine.

This spearhead is great and obviously hand-forged
This spearhead is great and obviously hand-forged. It has delaminations on the tip. I stuck it into a soft tree, no bark, and part of it flaked off. Not really noticable, but after watching a certain forging competition I can tell. There are also three cold shuts on the socket where it wasn't properly welded. It lost two stars however because finding a shaft is incredibly difficult. It doesn't really say what shaft is acceptable, but it requires a 1" shaft which is light and flimsy for a spear. If you don't mind a lot of sanding, a 1 1/8" shaft could work if you taper the end.

Good steel, comes dull
This thing comes unsharpened, so be prepared to have someone do it for you or do it yourself. Took me a couple hours but I got a decent edge on both side. The tip is needle sharp out of the box so you don't have to worry about that.
