Pretty good for me
I really like it. It seems to be built nicely the only down side is I had to update the drivers since I wanted to use it as a light gaming computer. Other than that I haven't had a problem.

Received a used, very damaged computer even though the description said “New.”
Run, don’t walk, away from this product. Computer price and description said “New” yet we received a very used, very damaged computer. Scratched, banged up, and the metal over the power port was bent. Immediately returned and 2 weeks later have not received a refund or even been told if they’ve received the computer.

Backlit Key Does Not Work
I purchased this item and the backlit key didn’t work. Called HP for troubleshooting and it still didn’t work. I am a tech expert so I was aware of troubleshooting steps they walked me thru but is still didn’t work. I received a replacement from Amazon and the backlit key still does not work. My friend and I googled it and those options for the function still didn't work. Viewed the exact model on google and followed steps and still didn't work. I googled q&a and it said it had the backlit keys but that is incorrect. After troubleshooting myself, following instructions from the instructions within the package, verifying the correct model with the instructions, speaking to HP tech that said he had the same model just a few years older...all this and I then google some tech q&a on this product and it Does Not have the feature. I needed this PC for work and now I am beating against time to have one shipped to me. Only after I received a replacement did I discover the misinformation about the features for this PC. 😡

Good Laptop/Notebook for the value/but had to wait from distributer
I had to get a new Laptop, after my DELL XPS crapped out on me only after 18 months. Here are the specs of the HP Pavilion 15.6" laptop 15.6" HD diagonal HD SVA BrightView micro-edge WLED-backlit touchscreen (1366 x 768)8th Generation Intel Core i5-8250U Processor (1.6GHz, up to 2.7GHz)8GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM, 1TB HDD + 16GB Intel OPtane MemoryHDMI, HD Webcam, B&O PLAY with dual speakers, Intel HD Graphics 620-The reason why I will not give this laptop 5 stars is because HP will charge over $200 for a 16 GB ram upgrade and install and any upgrades are expensive. Now I am basing these ratings off of the entry to mid level basic laptops, you can't compare this to a $2000-3000 gaming laptop like Dell Alienware or MSI or a professional business laptop like an HP Envy DELL XPS or a MACBOOK pro.I recommend that YOU upgrade the slow HD drive and replace it with an SSD drive. I picked up a Samsung 480 GB SSD Drive for $125 with shipping included from Amazon prime and I paid another $70 for 2 8GB DDR 4 ram. The ram can be installed easily, just unscrew the laptop, place the ram in the slot and it should latch on. If you are not tech saavy, take the SSD drive to a PC repair shop and they should do it for around $100.Caveat, if anyone told you the upgraded the CPU or graphics card, they are lying because there are two types of motherboards, the ones that the graphic card and CPU can be replaced and the ones where it is attached, like in this mode. As for the speakers, I like the innovative wavy design, next to the monitor and the speakers are excellent. They are on par with some top of the line models, that can cost $2-3000. The batterylife is solid, I have not fully tested it yet on gaming and movies but seems like on power saver mode or the 20%/80% option, you will get minimum about 5-6 hours of battery life and a bit more, if you are not watching movies or videos.I only had the laptop for less than a month and I have upgraded the ram to 16 gb and replaced the 1TB HD drive with a 480 GB SSD drive. You sacrifice some hard drive space but your notebook will be lightening fast and this smokes my Dell XPS. Other than upgrading the HD drive to SSD drive and get 16 GB of ram, caveat the most this laptop will take is 16 GB and get DDR 4 and switch the drive to a 480 GB SSD drive You can get an SSD drive wieth more memory but then you are spending more money and it does not justify the cost. Overall, this laptop will get the job done for your work and school projects. The added bonus is for under $600, you get an I 5 processor, along with a touch screen and 15.6".I have two major issues and the first being that the seller is charging $87 for a book, that is not even a hard cover, max this book should be sold is $50. I ordered this for a college class and it arrived late. I would like a refund because i tried calling and nobody answered my # 702-888-0768 my email [email protected]. I will leave this review until the issue get's resolved to warn others.

Renewed ?
I started up the laptop and everything installed properly. There was no problem with the laptop until I registered it and found out it had already been registered and the warranty had run out a couple months ago. I didn't know I was buying a refurbished laptop. When I looked back I found they did put renewed down below on the page but not readily noticable. Most vendors put it right at the top in big letters so there is no question as to whether it is new or renewed. I found this to be a bit deceiving. I am keeping the laptop because it looks and works like new and I haven't had any operating issues. Took away two stars for the renewed issue.
