This is the best home use kiln I've had to date.
Out of all the home refining tools out there (and I've tried almost all of them) This unit is great. It heats straight up and will hold that temp as long as you want. The only negative is the crucibles don't last very long. I had an unfortunate mishap and ended up with gold inside due to a cracked and broken crucible, The company went out of they're way to help me get it fixed and recoupe the gold, for a very fair price.

good product but...
This kiln works great, gets the job done, but the issue is the insulation they use is a soft material that crumbles really easily. The crucible sets in the middle of the insulation where it is suspended between the coils and the lip of the crucible hangs above the insulation so you can grab it with your tongs. The issue I ran into is the insulation surrounding the lip of the crucible started crumbling after only 3 weeks of use therefore making it impossible to use the tongs to grab it due to the crucible sagging to far in the kiln. Hard to explain but if you buy it you will understand. A better kiln to buy would be a side load kiln, which the tabletop furnace company has as well.

This is an excellent small job furnace to melt items of jewelery
This is an excellent small job furnace to melt items of jewelery, especially gold or silver items. It only goes to 2500° F but it does work very quickly and I do want to get mine up and running again soon.

Better than advertised
We have found this furnace to fit into our lab very well and will certainly be purchasing a few more.

Really wish it was bigger. The crucibles suck

very limited use only
only good if smelting once and while. used it couple weeks to melt brass tire valves and pretty much started to fall apart. first had to replace the crucible then the coil. insulation fell apart while replacing coil then on/off switch burnt out. 2nd coil because of the insulation problem touched together and burnt coil in half. save your money and build your own smelter.
