Cost effective fix for the "DE" error on my LG Washer
My LG Washing machine has worked well going on 12 years now. However, in the last several months, the "DE" error code was popping up more frequently, requiring me to open and reclose the door before a wash cycle would begin. After a bit of online research, the consensus was that the door lock mechanism and sensor needed replacing. This part was listed as the direct fit for my machine. It took about 30 minutes, most of which was the removal and replacement of the door seal - make sure you have the clamp tool use to remove the big lock ring, it does make the job much easier and is useful whenever you remove the seal to give it a deep cleaning. After a few weeks and many loads of laundry, not a single error code has come up. Pretty simple DIY replacement to get things back in business.

Just like OEM.
Exact fit. Inexpensive compared to other sites. Easy to install. Started malfunctioning two days before return window. Had to buy another from a different seller.Update. The part works perfectly. The problem turned out to be the wiring to the part. Once replaced the part has no issues. Once I put this one back in. Returned the other part.

OEM is best
Always best to buy an OEM part. Easy to install, just because it is. The frustrating part is re-installing the metal ring holding the door gasket in place. I was willing to pay a plumber to install it, but here is a great idea, and save yourself some money and brain cells. Order this on Amazon.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086YRSQPY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsIt's a spring removal tool, that can be used for other things, but it makes this a breeze. The videos on you tube show it done without the tool, but they struggle and don't show you that part. Buy it. You have a new tool. You know you want to add it to your collection.Door switch works great but the expansion tool is the hero.

Perfectly good washing machine for twenty bucks
Simple to install two screws two wires. No more fault code the hardest part was putting the door gasket back on right. Somebody threw this washing machine away and all it needed was a $20 part

Perfect fit
The fatal DE code finally hit, the worse news when you have laundry. This part worked great on my old front load washer Kenmore Elite Sears model 796-41542210, looked to be the exact part that it came with. The hardest part for grandson was getting the wire harness reattached, it didn't have a lot of give and the part was hard to push back together. Used the tapered end spring expansion tool to remove the metal clamp off the front, it was harder to get it back in place without 3 hands to keep it in place. Watched all the videos I could find on the subject, so that really helped for amateurs to fix.

Perfect. Replace through the top! Don't pull the gasket.
Great factory part and easy to replace. I don't know why everyone is pulling the door gasket and buying a spring tool. Pull the top (two screws), and reach down to unclip the connector. Then unscrew the two screws from the front. Install is the reverse. Simple. I was done in 10 minutes.
