Professional Quality
I bought this because my Queen Palms could no longer be reached with my Stihl gas powered pole pruner chainsaw. I should have been using this saw from Day One. It cuts like a pro, with very little effort, and it is a lot lighter than the Stihl (which I bought a harness for because of its weight). I have also used this on other Palm trees and on Live Oaks (hard wood). I use a Dry Lube designed for blades each time I use the saw, and I clean it with alcohol each time I use it. The more you use it, the better your technique. Two tips: 1. Unlock the levers before you extend the pole. If the buttons don't work, you need to unlock another lever! Start at the bottom when expanding, and at the top when contracting the pole length. Don't forget to lock the levers before cutting. The second tip is use a ladder, and use lesser of an extension. Yes, I know they tell you not to use a ladder, but you have more control if the length of the pole is shorter. To date, I have only used two of the three extensions, and I have far exceeded my old Stihl's reach, pruning 30 foot Palms and Oaks with ease. Don't do this if you don't feel safe on ladders. Both the blade and the pole are high quality, and with a bit of practice you will get professional results, but you will have to explain to your wife why you weren't doing this from the start, and why you were messing around with limited reach, and more expensive gas chainsaw poles.

The best there is..
This Notch 21 ft is sure one heavy duty pole and blade. I've used it for over a year now, and have put it through some demanding situations, even while up on a ladder pushing through branches to get to others, and it's heavy duty structure is one of the best I've seen. The construction of the pole is thicker than most, and the locking mechanism is second to none. Although this is very expensive @ $350 with its incredible sharp heavy duty blade and thick pole, and then I had to add another $100 for the SherrillTree 16377R-P Sintung Lopper, but I will tell you this combination on a 21 ft heavy duty pole, is about the best there is out there. The only CON is, I wish they made this in a 30ft !!! Please !And so, because of that, I bought a 30 ft DOCA pole with its included sharp blade and for only $100 ...Now, for certain, in overall construction and heavy duty made, this DOCA pole in no way compares to the Notch, no way, it's flimsily and light duty only, BUT, if you need the 30 ft reach! ...then it's okay for smaller branches and 'Light Duty one off use, to be able to reach 30' when I need to, it's imperative, and helpful.Anyway, the review is about this 21 ft Notch, and it truly gets a 5 star rating, heavy duty, and exceptional, but again is very expensive and so it's for the serious pruner that likes quality!

Exceeded expectations
This thing is pretty great. It’s surprisingly easy to use and cuts through tree branches quickly. It actually feels durable- unlike a lot of the junk out there. I’d say it’s well worth the money considering a tree service would charge 4x+ the amount of this tool. I’ve already cut a bunch of thick tree branches up high and plan to reach some as high as 40’ on my tall ladder. My only issue is the insurance which costs $50 for 3 years. That seems pretty darn steep for a product at this price point. Anyhow- so far it’s even better than I could have hoped for. Not paid to do this review. I only leave reviews when a product exceeds my expectations and is deserving.

This is a Professional Limbing Saw With a Spectacular Reach: Recommended.
This is a fantastic device. Yes it is spendy but if you have a lot of large, way up there limbs you need to remove and you can buy and use this saw and spend just a fraction of what you'd be charged having it done by an arborist or tree care specialist. Make no mistake though, it is a bit of work to use it at full extension, and it takes some practice to get good at removing limbs without tears to the bark and such but it does a super duper job once you learn the ropes. It is very, very, satisfying to do a professional looking job and have somebody ask who was able to remove branches so far up, lol.

Top notch
The blade is very sharp. I learned to use short strokes for a cleaner cut. It also has great reach; when fully extended, you'll get a good workout.

Works great
Just received this and used it right out of the box. The poles sections extend and collapse easily. It seems like there's a light coating of oil on them which helps them slide. When locked in place the pole is pretty rigid even at full extension which really helped when positioning the saw and cutting a branch that was 20' above ground. I did not experience the issues with the pop-up buttons that a few others had. By sliding the pole at reasonable speed, the popped in place as they should. No issues pushing them down and getting stuck. As others have noted, the saw is very sharp and designed to stay in the cut even when working at full extension. I cut through a 5" cherry branch in just about 2 minutes, and a 3" oak branch even faster. The total weight is just under 8 pounds which is easy to carry, but will give your shoulders a bit of a workout when cutting large, high branches. The plastic sheath is important. The teeth of the saw are really sharp. The sheat snaps on an off easily and stays on snugly enough so it won't fall off too easily.

The very best pole saw.
I was looking for a replacement pole saw at the big hardware store. Another customer noticed me looking at their substandard selection and told me he had purchased the Notch saw awhile back. He said he was tired of the cheap crap and the Notch saw has a Silky Blade and was been the best saw he’s had. I thanked him and immediately went home and ordered this saw. It IS the best pole saw I’ve ever used. The pole is heavy duty and reaches twice as far as my broken one. The blade is super sharp and has a hook on the end the works better than the rope pull cutter on other saws. You get what you pay for. You won’t regret this purchase.
