Richardson Sheffield R07000P294654 V Sabatier Kitchen Shears, Black

This set replaced a previous set of knives from Richardsons that performed admirably for close to 30 years. These look to be of similar build quality and are very comfortable in the hand. Very pleased with them so far.

Very sturdy. Always make stock from chicken carcass and these chop the bones nicely.

good, if a lttle soft. The metal is a mid-range steel, not as hard as some of the other steel Iown includig the excellent m390. However, tremenous value for money and with good whetstone and strop technique they are easy enough to keep sharp. The steel is brittle owing to the carbon content so don't use it to pry or stab or hack. They will break and they are not designed for this. They are a decent range of knife sizes my one gripe is that the chef's knife is a little narrow and light, I like a bt of substance to my knife. The balance is ok, centre of mass being just beyond the base of the blade. They are full tang as expected, and the handles are comfortably wide and substantial. Presentation is nice in what appears to be a real wood case in oak.

At this price I was extremely sceptical and could not see that the quality could be any better than just OK. How wrong could one be. The knives are a good weight, extremely sharp and look good on the knife rack. I have ditched the knife block which came with it but even the knife block was an excellent weight, quality wood and looked good.

In old age I've lost dexterity in my fingers, which makes it difficult to use conventional scissors with finger holes in their handles. The careful thought and design concept of Sabatier Kitchen Shears overcomes all the problems I normally encounter when trying to cut with conventional scissors. And, allows better grip and leverage with accuracy when making a cut. A high quality product satisfying all my expectations and requirements. The Sabatier Shears have a 30-year guarantee, but it's unlikely I shall live another 30 years or need to make use of it.I have no hesitation in recommended this high quality product.

Love the brand but not so well made could be from China

I bought these after struggling to spatchcock chicken with kitchen scissors that claim to cut chicken. These shears slice through the back bone so easily.I use the tips of the shears rather than the whole blade and they cut so quickly.I have small hands and arthritis so i really didnt expect to be able to use them, but they are so easy to use.The only slight snag is the retaining clip tends to get in the way a bit, but apart from that they are excellent.

As it cost far less than the same set on other sites, I had imagined it might be a dodgy copy - however this was not the case.All the knives cut superbly, and the block doesn't wobble, as I had feared it might.The knives feel exceptionally comfortable in the hand, and at present appear to be very solidly made.
