Nice-Looking Rail That Holds Its Weight
One of the odd things about the staircase in my home was that there was a long stretch where only one side had any railing. This was a bit troublesome since the wooden base of the stairs could get a bit slippery, and the experience of falling on the stairs is far from desirable. So I set out on my quest to find additional railing for my stairs.I had two main factors that I was looking for in my railing considerations: 1. I wanted railing that came in the specific length I needed to cover the area in question (11 ft), and 2. I wanted a product that specifically stated where the mounting brackets were so I could ensure they lined up with my wall studs. I began my search with looking at the cheaper options; most of which being some form of PVC or thin metal railing. The reviews were a bit concerning, however, so I eventually decided that spending a bit more would be the safer option; especially since the railing would be meant to ensure physical safety.I decided upon this Promenaid handrail due to its nice appearance, clear product description, and good reviews. Like many rail options on Amazon, I was able to select a custom length to fit my needs. This also was one of the few railing products that specified not only where the mounting brackets were, but that they can be positioned wherever you want them so that stud positions would not be a problem. The product shipped from Canada (to US) and arrived a whole week earlier than Amazon anticipated. The packaging secured the product well and each section of the railing was packed in its own box, each of which was taped together for a single shipment. The rail segments even had protective tape on the edges with my name on it, so I could tell the railing was prepared specifically for my order. The installation process was fairly simple; most of which I did by myself on the floor. I had my wife help hold the rail briefly as I installed the first and last brackets per the instructions. I installed the rest of the brackets by myself with the rail suspended by the first two. Once installation was complete, I tested the rail by hoisting myself up a few stairs using just my arms to ensure that everything was nice and sturdy. Nothing moved, and there were no creaking noises. The only downsides I came across with the product were the rail joining area and the mounting screws. The area where the rails join don't completely match up unless the rail is installed absolutely perfectly. I even tried to change which ends meet, but I'd have to make a tiny adjustment in the bracket placement to potentially fix the gap, which isn't really worth losing structural integrity. The screws for the brackets seem to strip way too easily considering that they need to be screwed in all the way for maximum integrity. They can survive an initial installation and possibly and adjustment or two, but they would need to be replaced if any more work needs to be done.Overall, this is a great product, and you will see the money you put into once the railing is up.

Well made
Well made, great quality and easy to install. Only down fall is I Wish they made a compatable railing I could install at top of the steps to match

Pretty
Nice railing except cut ends are rough. Going to have to figure how to smooth them so nobody scrapes their hands. Promenade needs to either detail their cuts or devise some type of cover for the ragged joints.

Beautiful handrail!
We installed this handrail on a 14-step stairway leading to a new apartment above a newly-constructed garage in NH. Glad we got 18' because local inspector required a railing beside 3 steps in garage that we didn't expect to put in. My family members did find the installation a bit challenging, but I'm sure it was their lack of skill and not the instructions. Product came thoughtfully packages containing all the parts needed plus some extra. It was installed into studs and feels extremely sturdy/strong. One thing to note: I didn't realize that our town requires ADA railcaps that make a turn and dead-end at the wall - we contacted Promenaid and they sent the new caps out to us without delay, enabling the railing to pass inspection - so if you're installing on new construction that will be inspected, might be worth checking. Everyone who sees this railing comments on how nice it is - we're really happy with it!

Beautifully functional!
After alot of searching, found this wonderful handrail for the entrance in my new addition. Got the champagne with mat nickel brackets, which looks elegant. All who have come through the door, have commented on the beauty and solid feel. No regrets on this great product.

Excellent product. Great quality and look.
Installation takes some patience but it worked out well for a 7-ft long rail. The quality of the rail is top notch. It looks great and is rock solid against the wall.

Beautiful & Functional
Installed 3 of these in our split level home - super easy to install especially if you watch the YouTube videos available. The key is finding the studs. I recommend using a studfinder. Be sure to angle the top 2 screws of each bracket slightly (5 to 10 degrees). The handrails are very sturdy and look fantastic.

Looks Fantastic
Very easy to install, was able to install all mounts to studs and is very secure.5 stars... only flaw would be for an 11ft length they supplied a 6 and a 5 ft rail, would've been nice to have two 5.5's so the seam is in the middle of the finished railing.

Beauty and brawn
We had this installed in our new build. Our contractor loved how easy it was to install and we love how modern it looks compared to wood ones. It addition to being very attractive, it is very strong (obviously proper blocking behind the drywall is key for this.)
