The GEL-Dirt Dog 3 offers high-end performance for the cross-country racer who prefers the comfort and platform feel of a track spike. The unique outsole employs a combination of PU and nylex to ensure excellent traction on all types of terrain, while the newly designed upper minimizes overlays for a glove-like fit. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Great Minimalist Shoes/Racing Flats
Disclaimer: I usually run 30-50 miles per week either barefoot or in Vibram FiveFingers.Though they're racing flats, these are great all-around running shoes for forefoot-strikers when the need for something over the bare minimum is needed. So far, I've done a couple of five mile runs in these and one half-marathon distance. They've accrued about 40-50 miles, some on asphalt (without the spikes in), some on trails. They are fantastic. I have average-to-slightly-wide feet. I sized up by about half a size and that give me plenty of room in the toe box. With the (included) spikes in, they give killer trail traction. They definitely allow a solid fore-to-midfoot stroke without encouraging (the biomechanically more strenuous) heel striking. They breathe great, even during the rain, and I've worn them both with socks and without without any rubbing, even the first time. They're a steal at the current price (about $30).

Lightweight shoes
I purchased these shoes for my son to wear during the Cross Country season. He had this style last year and loved them, but I had trouble finding them until I searched Amazon. He says they are light, almost like running barefoot, and comfortable. They do, however, run small, so we ordered one size larger than what he usually wears. They fit his narrow foot well.

great shoes
excellent shoes. feel great on my feet like im hardly even wearing anything. and durable too! i am afraid i am very rough on shoes and so far these are in great condition even after six months of use. i am surprised bc when i got the shoes and saw how thin the fabric was, i was expecting the fabric to tear after a month.

ASICS
They do run a bit small. I had to return them so I can exchange for one size bigger. I like that it brings the spikes seperate for you to put on if you want to run on terrain. They can be used with or without the spikes.

Not much cushion
These shoes are very light. There is a reason for this: a)they do not have much cushion. b) not much support c) upper part consist of a mesh, nothing else. The shoes are not comfortable for flat feet.

Great Buy
This is a great shoe for all kinds of XC races and runs, it works well with hills, mountains, flatland, and ditches all with the same amount of comfort for a nice smooth, speedy ride.....I have yet to seen how long it will last, but so far i have ran with them in 4 different races and there still in "like new" condition without a single scratch, however, it does run a little small.
