Great to cook with and so easy to clean
Last year while at our summer cottage I bought one of these SilverStone skillets and was amazed at how easy it was to make pancakes and cook omelets. Easy to cook and easy to clean. But I wondered how it would stand up to repeated use. It's a year later and it looks like new! When I saw this 2 pan set available (for the same price I paid for the larger skillet) I immediately bought it for our apartment in the city. I have good cookware including All Clad and Cuisinart which is great cookware, but I use the SilverStone the most. It's quick to heat and cook in, most of all , so easy to clean. I'm going to give a set to my daughter who 's just move to her first apartment. Great gift!

SilverStone Ceramic Nonstick Alum. 8" Skillet - 5 stars : )
: ( On a gas stove, the bottom surface scratches/flakes the red paint because of the stove grates [I found this in another review after purchase made]. I have used pan 3 times and it seems to have stopped. Still waiting to hear from others who kept pan and had this happen too on their gas stove. If you want to slide your pan back and forth while cooking, be aware of this if you have a gas stove. : ) I'm keeping my pan. It's wonderful and nothing sticks. However, I cook in this pan as if it is stainless steel. 1st. Medium setting pre-heat. When drop of water has 'boiling water' appearance, pan ready. 2nd. 'Lightly, lightly' butter/oil pan like if you're cooking eggs. If something like hamburger won't need to. Has oils coming out as meat cooks. 3rd. Put in food. Should hear sizzle sound. If not pan not hot enough. 4th Don't move food placed in pan. It has to do a process of browning/caramelizing' on the underside of food before flipping or moving it in pan. This is why the 2nd step/above is necessary.

I've had this just a few days and I absolutely love it! The little cushions look strange but they really work. I don't use any of the pam-like spray but rather keep a one inch paint brush in my cabinet and spread a little oil around. I find that works even better than the spray. Anyway, this is a great skillet for a single person household. Size is just right - clean up is a breeze - and it truly doesn't stick!

Love these pans!!!!!! - well, maybe now not so much.....
I bought these pans as replacements for 2 Calphalon pans that were losing their non-stick ability. We love these pans! They are super non-stick, so much so that adding fat to the pan (other than for flavor) is completely unnecessary. We have used them daily for several weeks and continue to be impressed. We wash by hand and clean up is super quick - food simply rinses away. The pans are lighter and thus easier to handle than our old Calphalons and they heat up fast which I also consider an asset. One of the reasons I selected these pans was their high sides - which makes many dishes, including stir-frys easy to move and toss without making a mess of the stove. My reading also tells me that the ceramic finish may be more long wearing and certainly safer than many other non-stick surfaces.Update 7/13/15: These pans have been in use for a bit over 4 months. We're a 2 person household, take good care of these pans, no high heat, gently handwash, etc. They are still nicely non-stick, especially good for eggs. The downside is the exterior - the red finish has flaked off badly and they are now not so attractive on my pot rack.

Works great! Food does however stick to this pan(the pan bottom is a little bumpy) slightly more than the smooth bottom ceramic pans. But it cooks the food very evenly and is pretty stick resistant

A pleasure to cook and clean
We have had ours for a month now, and we use them both multiple times per day. They are a pleasure to cook with. We don't use much oil, except coconut and olive, but we do use some butter. Never cooking spray. But it doesn't matter much, as it really isn't necessary except for flavor. Very little sticking. Cleaning involves grabbing a slightly damp cloth and wiping. That is it! I love how you know it is clean because white shows everything. I also feel like the white discourages from using the wrong utensils. We had Teflon pans before these, and granted, we were rough on them, but they lasted two years at most. I suspect these could last us longer, but of course we are trying to take good care of them. Regardless, we are no longer poisoning ourselves, and they are more pleasurable to use than cast iron, though I haven't tried an enameled version yet.Only complaint is some extremely minor imperfections due to manufacturing or shipping. You'd need a really good light to see them. So far, they haven't caused any issue, but if they do, I will update with our warranty experience. If I could deduct less than a full star, I would give 4.75.

Why does the red paint come off the bottom?
So, I had been using the 8 in version of this pan for a couple of years and really loved it so I thought, why not get a larger pan. I read a few reviews where the red paint was coming off the bottom of the pan and I thought, really? I've not had any problems with my small skillet so I bought the 12 in pan anyway. Well, I used it once and guess what? Yep, some of the red paint came off. Did I say I used it once and some of the red paint came off? Is it the red 12 in version only with this problem? I don't know. I have an aqua-ish 8 in version and it looks as good as the first day I used it. The 8 in red one seems to be ok too, though I haven't had it as long. So, what's the problem with the 12 in pan that they can't get the red paint to stick to the pan? I was going to order one of the other pans as well but not now.Consider me disappointed and I'll think twice before ordering another pan from SilverStone.

Excelente calidad

Really Nice
Really nice little frying pan - very happy with this purchase. Good quality, doesn't stick, I like that it's a little deeper than the average frying pan. Looks great too.
