Good refrigerator but the icemaker needs to be replaced. Good customer service from Frigidaire but crappy customer service from the vendor, Appliance Giant.

The appliance is great. The only issue my wife has is a small dimple on e right side of the appliance, easily seen because the right side faces the kitchen proper. Looks like a golf ball hit it lightly. We decided it wasnt worth a return in leiu of of two things: we have already gotten rid of our old friggie and the sucker is big. It would be such a hassle to return the appliance. Picture not available becuse my camera couldnt get a decent shot.Its a nice refrigerator though.

First some background. We owned an Electrolux counter depth French door refrigerator. We loved it. It lasted 7 years before one of the slides on the freezer drawer made an ominous sound. I had been finding pieces of needle bearing races in the freezer for a year. The ominous sound suggested it was time to deal with it. Putting money into a 7 year old refrigerator made no sense so we choose to replace it.4 reason supported replacing: 1), No smudge stainless. Yes its really no smudge. After 2 weeks we're still not used to not seeing finger and hand prints all over the refrigerator. 2), Larger. We could have used a larger freezer. 3), The freezer drawer slides have been totally redesigned and incorporate far better (think simpler/stronger) parts. 4), Again, didn't think it was worth pouring money into a 7 year old fridge. A 30 year old fridge in another home, yes. But these days a frig might last 10 years, often less - our neighbor's Korean brand, 4 years.We liked the Electrolux so much we went with Frigidaire. Electrolux is simply not worth the upcharge. Again, we like it a lot. Compared to the competition, much nicer component parts, lighting, shelves, plastics, space utilization, etc. A nicer feel all around. Quiet! This frig, unlike many of the current models is near silent. Excellent temperature control.There's a lot of bad press regarding reliability of Frigidaire fridge's. Just about all ice makers that don't work. No big deal, on the Electrolux we replaced it ourselves for $125 rather than call a repairman. The ice maker issue is irrelevant to me.I'd recommend this. At least have it on your initial list.

I have had my fridge less than a year after the first month the compressor went bad then a few months after that the coolant pressure went up causing a knocking noise. & now it has to go into the shop to have the coolant system sealed because its leaking. I will never buy this brand again. also the freezer handle keeps falling off.
