Works pretty well - best cup mount holder I've found.
This is pretty well built. It works with minimal shutter (movement) of the tablet. It is NOT as adjustable as I would like. A good product.

Sturdy mount exceeded expectations
I've been using it for a couple weeks now and I'm really happy with it. This review focuses on the physical characteristics of the mount which you wouldn't know unless you held it and used it yourself.Everything is made of plastic (as opposed to metal), but it's about as nice as a plastic mount could possibly be. The part that goes in the cup holder is some sort of rubberized plastic which grips well. The mechanism it uses to tighten the cup part is very smooth and tight. I drive a jeep with rough suspension and 3 weeks of jostling haven't loosened or moved it (or any other parts) at all. The other plastic parts are not rubberized and they feel pretty solid, while not feeling brittle. NOTE: Be careful while tightening the base. If your car's cup holder is crappy or old or not well-supported, you could potentially crack the cup holder. You can rotate the "trunk" of the device, adjust the angle of the "arm" that holds the actual phone mount, and you can rotate the phone mount. The trunk is adjusted by pulling up slightly and rotating it. The mechanism used here seems to be a spring-loaded gear of some sort (similar to the gear teeth on an adjustable flagpole mount, though flagpole mounts are adjusted with a screw instead of being spring-loaded). It feels good. It's just tight enough that it would never turn on its own, but it doesn't require so much force that you would be worried about breaking the plastic. The arm is held at the preferred angle by a similar gear/teeth mechanism (also like an adjustable flagpole mount) which is held in place by a screw (with a knob on the end instead of a wingnut). Because it uses this toothed mechanism, it'll never slip. However, it also means you don't have an infinite number of angles to choose from. If I had to eyeball it, I'd say you can set it at 10 degree intervals maybe. I personally like this design and it's no detriment to me, since there are still many angle to choose from and it's pretty much guaranteed to never slip.I have an S7 with an otterbox defender case (which isn't a heavy phone) and the clamp fits it nicely. Anything bigger probably wouldn't fit, though. While driving over bumps, the top of the phone moves back and forth about a half centimeter in each direction. I suppose you have to expect some sort of play on a top-heavy device like this where the arm is 8 to 10 inches high. I haven't owned it long enough to determine if this will loosen or weaken the parts over time, but it doesn't seem to have caused any change so far.Overall, I love it and I'd highly recommend it.

A "glad-I-bought-it," "no-buyer's-remorse" purchase - significant improvement to family trips
This is definitely one of those "glad-I-bought-it" "no-buyer's-remorse" purchases.Fundamentally changed our 3-4 hour weekend drives to Lake Tahoe. Now we -- rather than the terrain of the road -- determine when we want to let the kids watch a movie to have a little grown-up time. The device works rather well. It expands to fit snugly in a standard cup holder. We have no problems with shifting or vibrations (I was worried about this) even on windy mountain roads (paved). All adjustments work well.We use a rubber cupholder insert (came with car). It's great that we can pull the whole contraption forward from the back seat to make entertainment adjustments without having to dismount the iPad or iPhone. The devices that mount to the seats would be more difficult. It does require cup holder that has an actual full circle for it to sit in (or a full-circle rubber insert) to work properly. We used an insert that came with the car to put it in our "double cup holder" behind the center console with no problems. It would not otherwise have worked in these holders, though.Be careful and do not force as you're figuring it out. I snapped a piece of plastic that locks the mount securely to the stick when first assembling. It was user error, but the instructions are not that clear so just be careful. It still works well enough that I don't plan to replace. The best part is the improved quality of our family outings, though. Yes, we have family time. But when we DO allow the kids to watch a movie, etc., it's far more pleasant. No more iPad falling off the precarious perches we tried to set up before so the kids could both see. No more kids screaming, "The iPad fell down again." When we gave up and asked one kid to hold it, there's no more whining, "My brother isn't pointing the iPad to me -- I can't see." No more incessant turning around to pick the iPad up or adjust it on its precarious perches. No more, no more, no more.Just more time to talk to my wife and relax for a little while.

It's long enough
It doesn't have enough movement for me. It only extends and moves forward or backwards.

Use the tablet holder as the phone holder
So we bought this for a tablet holder. It didn't work but not because the product was bad. It just didn't fit our very specific need. We were gonna send it back but I was playing with it and thought that I could use it in my car as a phone holder. So I detached the tablet holder and attached the phone holder part. It was CRAP. one of the worst cell live holders I have ever seen. It was hard to get in and out. So I was definitely gonna send it back now. I was packing everything up to send it back and realized that my phone would fit in tablet holder part. Then I noticed that the tablet holder had an adjustable side that was locked into place. The other side was spring loaded. Then i realized that even though the spring loaded side was easy enough to move aside to place your phone in, it held the phone really well. So I now I use the tablet holder part of this to hold my phone. I have never had a better phone holder. It holds it rigidly in place but putting the phone in and out is so easy. So I placed the "clamps" vertically with the spring loaded side down. I push the spring loaded side down a little bit with my phone. Then I tilt the phone into position and let go. To get it out I just grab the phone and give a slight push down to move to spring loaded clamp and then tilt the phone out. It is the best and easiest phone holder ever had. I would give it 5 stars if they had designed it to work this way in the first place

Awesome
The media could not be loaded. Been looking for something like this for a while now but to hold a laptop . This particular gadget is well made and sturdy but not sturdy enough. When you lock it in place the base expands and the top mount raises up which makes it wobble side to side( room for improvement right there). The middle mount only folds from 1 side to the other side which is good but not quite there. If it would swivel on all directions would be perfect in conjunction with the very top mout ( if it had an extra swivel in all directions as well) so you could position it as preferred. Like this if tablet is mounted its to close to the gear shifter. But different cars have different copholder positions. If the company takes this into consideration for version 2.0 definitely will buy again.

Not quite perfect
Items used for this review were iPhone 6s & iPad Mini, fitting into cup holders of Ford Focus MK1, I found the larger tablet holder more user friendly, as the phone can be fitted and removed with one hand, the smaller phone cradle needed both hands.Item has Good build quality, the expansion of the base fits the cup holder very well, good secure fit, plenty of range for positioning of device, however the position of the cup holders of the MK1 Ford Focus are such that, when this device is in position, the heating control section of the dashboard is slightly in the way, the full range of position is not available, the phone is ok, and when in the tablet cradle supplied you can still access the fan control switch, the phone is also just out if the way of the drivers knee and you can still change into 5th without catching the phone, however the iPad Mini is too large and you will catch the device with Knee and hand while changing gear, and you cannot access the fan control switch, though the phone is a little out of the way, and a little too vertical, it is held firmly and I don't feel it would fall from the cradle at any point, but not so firm you would struggle to release it when needed. When the arm is in the downward position, I found although the phone was at a better angle to see and clear of the controls, I caught it with my leg and hand when changing gear.I am pleased with the quality, sadly Ford placing the cup holders slightly under the dashboard is not best, other makes and models may have a better position.

Pas adapté
L’embase du support est trop étroite et ne s’adapte donc pas au porte-gobelet de mon véhicule, alors que, par précaution, j’avais pris les mesures avant d’effectuer mon achat. Bizarre. J’ai donc retourné l’article.
