Poor anchor screws.
Minus one star for the sh*tty anchor screws. As others have pointed out, the anchor screws provided by kryptonite suck. After installing them, and tightening them down, I was able to pull out the anchor out with my bare hands. The anchor screws were disintegrated. I had to fish them out with a needlenose plier and tweezers. I ended up buying 5/8 lag shields (2-inch) and 3/8 torx security screws (3-inch) from my local hardware store (see attached picture). I set bbs into the screw heads with super glue, because the little metal balls provided by kryptonite did not fit the new screws.Minus one star for the "composite" (read: plastic or resin) cover. At the very least, there should be a metal shield to part of the cover, for strength, and to frustrate a thief cutting through to access the anchor shields. Unfortunately, the entire cover is plastic.Otherwise, this appears to be a fairly strong ground anchor.

Massive shackle anchored to the floor with heavy duty fasteners that you can't find anywhere: assemble with care.
This thing is huge. I found a large, heavy package on the porch and couldn't recall ordering anything that big or heavy. I thought, "What, 24 more cans of cat food?" The round black part is light plastic with two 4 mm holes: it provides a pleasant cover over the bracket you bolt do the ground. It comes with 5/16" and 5/8" concrete bits but my DeWalt 577 drill needs SDS+ bits, so I set those aside and bought two more bits for my collection. The instructions for anchoring this to the floor are clear, correct, and guide you through the work so you don't, as it warns, end up with holes all over the place. You drill on 5/8" hole, then a 5/16" pilot hole guided by the bracket, then bore out the 2nd hole to be 5/8", and repeat that for the final hole. I used a shop vac to get the concrete dust out of the holes. Two of the masonry anchors worked flawlessly, but the 3rd came apart in the hole. All pieces are magnetic, so I retrieved them and spent an hour trying to put them back together. No dice. I slept on it. The next morning I reassembled the fastener by building it around a 7/16" diameter rod (not the 3/8" bolt) and had it back in working order in 5 minutes. It came apart the first time because the hole was neither deep enough (off by 1/8") and it must have had a burr along one side. I know this now because the fastener came apart a second time. I fixed the hole, reassembled the fastener, and got it all done. It looks great. When I drive off and leave the door up I know that at least my bike will be there when I get back. Amazing how far you have to go to deter a would-be thief.Note: to reassemble the fastener I used 2 rubber bands, a 7/16" rod, and circlip pliers to spread the spring. Just saying.

No truck mounting instructions
Advertised on Amazon as being for concrete, truck beds, trailers, etc, but doesn't come with bolts for anything but concrete. Uses a special bolt with locking steel ball and deformed plate to hammer in, but truck mounting bolts not available. I called customer service, and they just referred me to search hardware stores and go to a dealer. The back of the box even has a picture of the anchor mounted on a truck bed. Not helpful. After putting me on hold, they hung up on me.Correction: they called me back, and it turned out that I can use the same bolts, just remove the 4 outer shells surrounding the bolt, held together by a spring. For the nut, I just used an ordinary lock nut, lock washer, and washer. Thinking of rounding off the nuts with a dremel to keep from removal. They should include truck mounting instructions in the installation manual, because there is clearly a picture of it mounted on a truck on the box.

Very secure and well made.
Some installation suggestions (some of which have been mentioned by other reviewers).1. The supplied anchors work well if you install them properly. * Don't hammer them into concrete when the bolts are partially threaded. Otherwise the end nuts will be pushed out the bottom.2. Use a hammer drill. Drilling the holes into my garage slab using the supplied drill bits took all of 10 minutes.3. As described in the supplied instructions, drill the holes using the anchor frame as a template. Drill the holes one at a time and thread the bolts into the U-shackle so that it doesn't move while moving on to the next hole. Make sure you drill the holes straight.4. After the holes are drilled, suck or blow out the residue trapped within with a vacuum or compressor.5. Apply a small amount of concrete adhesive into the holes before driving the anchors in.6. Thread the bolts into the anchors and tighten them prior to placing the U-shackle plate on top. This will make sure that the anchors bite into the holes and allow the threads to reach the bolts once the shackle is placed over them. That's about it. 13mm (1/2") Pewag G120 chain with sheath will fit through the U-shackle.

Strong but a pig to install!
Bought to secure my e-bike to the floor of my garage. This is an incredibly sturdy anchor and I doubt if anyone could move it now. I paired it with a Yale Gold chain and shackle and it works well. HOWEVER, and its a big one, it took me 8 hours, lots of sweat and several bust drills to fit it. I chose the floor because the walls were just blockwork and not strong enough. The floor was stone tiles over concrete. The drills provided are OK for the concrete but wouldn't touch the tiles. I had to buy some expensive tile drills to break through these first then use the masonry drill provided. But the biggest problem is the design of the fixing holes relative to the size of the wall bolts and screws provided. There is no room for any slight misplacement of the drilled holes and if you get it wrong, you end up stripping the screws when fixing and then needing new holes - a nightmare! A better design would have allowed for slight misalignment of holes in the product to drilled holes in the fixing surface. If you are a skilled builder, do buy one for for the average diy guy, this was too difficult.

A good anchor ...
In my job I've installed lots of raw bolts but the ones for this anchor seemed very feeble .Indeed one of them actually buckled on installing.Once the anchor was fitted I was able to use my fahgettaboutit mini with a 16mm chain but only the lock itself fits through the anchor. My kryptonite 14mm chain will fit through it but only just.Overall I'm very happy and my ebike is very secure.

Be careful when installing
The drill bits provided are not the correct size to accommodate the raw bolts. You need to bash them home which will destroy the bolt. My suggestion is drill a hole in a piece of wood and insert the bolt to ensure the correct fitting. The drill is of a imperial size and the bolts metric. I had to buy 2 more bolts raw bolts to place into the floor

Super strong and very well made.
I bought this item to fasten my new mountain bike to a concrete floor using a Kryptonite lock and chain. This was the only anchor point that my bike theft insurance recognised. I thought initially it was an expensive purchase, but my bike insurance will not pay out without it if my bike is stolen. When I examined it more carefully before fitting, I could see that the extra money I had spent was because of the clever design, the bullet proof construction and the clever anti theft devices that were built in. I also much appreciated that this item comes with the 2 drill bits needed to fit it in to concrete, brick or stone. That's probably a saving of at least £15.00 or more and the said drill bits have now found a permanent home in my tool box. It is fairly straightforward to fit, but make sure you follow the instructions carefully, particularly the need to drill each of the three holes in turn as the unit is fitted and not try and mark them all out and then drill them before trying to line up the base unit. Please read the clear and easy to follow instructions enclosed with the unit which will make this clearer. Forget the price, this item is top quality. well designed, well made and very smart looking.

A solid ground anchor
It's big, beefy and solid.I purchased this to secure my new ebike in my garage, as per the requirements of my insurance. It's very well made and is very big and chunky. The shackle is big enough to fit a Hiplock Homie chain through it.It comes with the drill bits required to fit it, which is a bonus. You will require a sturdy drill if you are mounting it into concrete.
