Adapted for Quick Connect on Trailer/RV
Obviously this isn't going to be as good to cook on as a full blown grill, but for its size and weight it's a neat grill. The heating is a little uneven, you have to be careful around the area where the solid section of the grill plate over the burner ends. At higher heats this tends to be quite a bit hotter than the rest of the grill and things will burn.I adapted this to work with a quick connect fitting on our travel trailer and it works great. It folds down small enough to fit in one of our external storage compartments and is light enough to lift in and out without too many hassles. To do the adaption you just need an adjustable wench and some basic practical skills. I used the following parts to adapt it (see photos for detailed steps):- Anderson Metals Brass Pipe Fitting, Forged Reducing Street Elbow, 1/4" Female Pipe x 1/8" Male Pipe - Camco 59903 Propane Quick-Connect Fitting - 1/4" NPT x Full Flow Male Plug - Rectorseal 31551 1/2 Pint Brush Top Tru-Blu Pipe Thread Sealant I used the liquid sealant because I had it from working on natural gas lines in our house. If I didn't already have it, I would have probably gone with thread tape instead - LA-CO 44080 Slic-Tite PTFE Pipe Thread Tape, Premium Grade .

Very easy assembly and they even include the one tool you need...
After a lot of research, I ordered this grill.I had a Coleman tabletop grill for years but I was looking something with its own stand and this is exactly what I had in mind!Mine arrived today and I had it assembled in about 20 minutes.Very easy assembly and they even include the one tool you need. (To attach the two wheels.)It would have actually been a 5 minute assembly but I spent most of the time tugging on the grill to remove it from the very carefully packed and protected shipping box. But that's actually a good thing.I have a small patio at my home and I didn't want a typical, large propane grill.I also wanted to store it in my garage when not in use to protect it from the elements. This grill fits the bill perfectly.Very ample area on the grates to grill.Seems like it can accommodate anything from a quick lunch to a small dinner party.I've got a couple of great books on grilling and have been watching YouTube videos to learn more. While I have grilled in the past, I want to kick my game up a notch!Despite being made in China, this grill has a quality feel to it.Coleman has been around a long time and clearly set the bar high for Chinese manufacturer to keep their brand reputation. It has been a while so I started very simply for my first attempt.Hamburgers with only fresh ground pepper and sea salt and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. After 6 minute cook time, I let it rest in a plate covered with aluminum foil.Result, hands down the best burger I have had in years!I also separately purchased an instant read digital thermometer (only $10) for food safety and control over how well cooked I wanted my food. I gave some thought to analog thermometers but I am glad I chose this digital model. Far easier to accurately read.I went to a store that sells, among other things, quality cooking accessories. This one looks solid as opposed to the cheap looking ones at the supermarket for the same price. This cool model snaps into a case that has a lanyard you can wear around your neck while grilling so you don't have to put it down.A meat thermometer is a must, IMHO. I know a chef and he always has one in his uniform shirt pocket at work.Brought the burgers up to 160 degrees F and perfection.Needless to say, tomorrow I will not be going out for lunch or dinner.Nor will I be heating up my house cooking indoors in the middle of the very hot summer here in South Florida.P.S. Two easy tips to make for easier cleanup.1) Line the metal bottom of the grill (a few inches below the grates) to catch any drippings or bits of food.Cut out circular holes to fit the foil around the burners.Be careful not to block the opening that leads to the grease drip tray.2) Cut a small piece of aluminum foil to size to line the drip tray.Cleaning it then consists of just disposing of the small piece of foil.

Well built, cool design, perfect for an row-home
Haven't cooked anything yet, but my parents have the same grill so I know that it works. Design is very cool and smart, a little larger than I expected (for example, to carry it end to end folded, my arms are at 45`), But it's definitely portable and easy to set up.Notes:Give it a good inspection upon taking it out of the box and read the setup directions fully. I dropped the grill when trying to stand it up at first because i couldn't find the hooks. Also, I put the tires on backwards. (i'm obviously awesome at putting IKEA furniture together, as you can tell).Take a long sheet of aluminum foil across the inner tray and cut out holes for the burners and the grease drain. It's not a perfect system but it will reduce the grease stains and cleanup that is bound to happen. Also put a layer of aluminum foil on the drip tray in the back of the grill.

Great Grill!!!
This was a gift from my son that for some reason thought I was still a camper. A vacation event occurred recently that led to my using this grill every day for 3 months. I connected it to a full-size propane tank and enjoyed some fine dining while enjoying beautiful Arizona sunsets and feeling somewhat smug knowing I was dodging an awful Oklahoma windy winter. This is a very handy grill with plenty of cooking surface and I read other reviews and grilled on lower settings. I used it as a stove and did not cook directly on the grill because cleanup was an issue so washing a cast iron grill was easier in my circumstances. I can't imagine why someone wouldn't enjoy this grill. I'm a 64 yo lady and found it easy enough to assemble and maneuver.I purchased the recommended cover but it was not a winner because the zipper tab broke off immediately. It does keep the grill folded up nicely in my horse trailer though.I also purchased a Coleman rollup camping table that was a true winner and I store it inside my horse trailer for my next big adventure.

Love my grill - I use it all the time!
I love my little Coleman Grill I live in a condo with a small patio and it is against our fire codes to have anything but a small grill with a propane screw on small bottle. I can’t believe how much cooking space I have on this Coleman and I also got the griddle where I can make hamburger patties that won’t fall through or pancakes or bacon I love the griddle. That is all the pros. The con is the shape of the lid if you try to put a small basket with grilled veggies inside of it you can’t shut the lid completely so anything taller than say a chicken breast you’re not going to be able to completely shut the lid. It has a short clearance. I use it anyway with my small grill basket everything comes out fine!

Quality has decreased
This was my second purchase of a Coleman Road Trip after many years with the first one. I found the first noticeable difference was the thickness of the cooking grates. This new one was noticeably thinner. This little grill has served our family well just as the old one has. Not too easy to clean as food will quickly cook to the stainless steel liner since it's close to the flame. Once a year it gets a good scrubbing with BBQ cleaner and I can almost get it back to new. Unless the quality totally deteriorates I'll buy another one in 5-10 years if this one goes.

Cleaning the driop tray is an unnecessary drag.
I tried to be fair to Coleman by fiurst contacting customer service but thay basically made light of the issue. The problem is that whether you are using a 1 lb or 20 lb tank configuration you need to uncouple the gas from the barbecue so that the tray can slide out the back. I pointed out that this seemed just bad design, but Coleman said it was all about SAFETY. Not really a convincing reason to me.Of course you will turn off the gas in a 20 lb tank or uncouple the 1 lb cylinder for cleaning, but to argue that you have to unscrew the 20 lb gas lead to ensure your safety is not sensible to me. It is a pity as this is a well priced machine that works well. But not on cleaning up.And Colemans' help desk seemed more concerned with where I bought my 20 lb lead pointing out that if it was not a Coleman the warranty would not apply. This is new information which should be better known perhaps?

Defective wheel assembly
Great unit. All kinds of heat. Easy to use. BUT. Assembled it and put it in the back of the truck. When I got to the tailgate one wheel was loose and not internally anchored in the metal housing. It had just been sitting in the truck. This can't be fixed unless I take it apart and know how to solder. Strangely enough I saw the same problem with 4 other identical units at the large Michigan tailgate. Some had it propped up on wood. Others had simply taken the wheels off so you can't roll it. Others still drag it around with broken wheels. So this is clearly a manufacturing flaw. I can get the thing fixed and dont really want to undergo the hassle of sending it back for a replacement. I have thrown out the box and the packaging. So buyer beware!! A great unit but the wheels WILL break easily and it will loseits easy portability. They have to fix this.

Not made like they used to make them!
We had our previous Coleman Roadtrip grill for about ten years, using it as a space saving primary BBQ. It was great but after ten years mostly outside it was time to replace it. Naturally we bought the same thing. We've had it for about eight weeks, and have used it a half a dozen times. It's no longer pumping gas to one of the two burners. Other reviews don't leave me very optimistic about how Coleman is going to handle my problem. Hopefully I'm back someday to give this item a few more stars but today it's one.

You had one job, Coleman!
I really wanted to like this! I was going to buy a Napoleon/Weber grill but I am historically a huge fan of Coleman, so I decided to get one of these because of the built in stand - You let me down. You let yourself down, Coleman! The most obvious thing (and it becomes obvious the second you try to move it!) is that they put the really flimsy lid lock on the wrong way around so "unlock" is down, towards the wheels and the ever-present pull of gravity. As soon as you try to wheel it, the catch opens up, the lid flies open and you lose the griddles. If you are not on grass, you probably chip the griddles too. There's basically no way to wheel this and keep the griddles inside, I simply can't understand how they didn't spot and change this instantly. I notice the newer model has the lock inverted, so it locks towards the wheels. This might seem like a small thing, but it ruins any concept of being able to wheel it.It also looks like you should be able to stand it up on end on the wheels. Don't kid yourself, you can't.... The handle gets in the way so it will always be on a slant.Since I am here, the grill plates don't fit. There's no "comfortable resting place" for them, it's like they are half an inch too big for the grill and they wobble all over the place. This makes it even worse when you are wheeling of course. It feels like Coleman had some grill plates left over from a previous batch and thought "Well they kinda fit this grill, they'll do".I have a LOT of Coleman stuff, the lamps and the old small stoves are pretty much perfect and everlasting in their design, they fit together perfectly, stuff is well built, it's just right. Everything about this stove is wrong, if it was $50 from Costco-own-brand I'd perhaps not mind, but this thing is honestly just an insult to Coleman. I never thought I'd give a Coleman product one star but the quality of this makes Chinese stuff from eBay look fantastic. It's awful. Spend more, get a Napoleon or a Weber.
