Good french press, but don't let your coffee sit in it too long.
We are coffee drinkers and in my opinion a french press is the best cup you can get. I chose this one because it is stainless steel. I'm in the habit of leaving my french press to sit on the stove rather than clutter my counter tops and I accidentally set my last (glass/plastic) french press on a hot burner and melted it. At least now if I make the same mistake it won't melt. I do like the modern look for an appliance that will be on display all day in my kitchen. My husband loves that this pot is insulated because he likes a steaming cup. That being said, if you are one to sip on coffee all day you probably want a coffee brewer because although this holds heat, it doesn't keep it warm longer than your average coffee tumbler. Also, I have noticed that if you leave the coffee sitting in the french press too long it takes on the metallic taste of the container. The french press holds about three mugs of coffee and between my husband and I it's usually gone long before we have to worry about it's flavor changing. Overall I'm very satisfied with this french press, it's great for our needs, but if I was one to let coffee sit around I'd probably go with a glass cylinder instead.

Best coffee ever!
My wife is a coffee expert, and her life depends on it every day. We picked this press up for camping trips since it's stainless steel and seemed to be very durable. When it arrived, we weren't disappointed. It is built extremely well with a strong handle and clean lines. Being that it's stainless steel, it is very easy to clean. The press mechanism fits excellent against the pot walls and the screen seems very durable and is the right gauge mesh.We tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago on a 3 day camping trip, and she claimed that it produced the richest and best-tasting french press coffee she's ever made (she has 2 high-end french presses at home). Of course the quality of coffee you buy makes a difference, and she only gets the good stuff. But she said it really enhanced the flavor more than the one at home. Maybe it just tasted better because we were camping and it was such a luxury. I don't know, but it put a smile on her face every morning.Notes for use:- Use only coarse-ground coffee in this press, otherwise fine grinds would get through the screen (this is the same for all french presses)- Do NOT boil your water in this double-walled pot!!!! Since the double wall is sealed air-tight, it would become a pressure bomb if you put it on a hot burner.- Boil your water in a separate pot, then pour it in over your coarse grounds (leaving the press mechanism OUT of the pot). Wait 5 minutes, then put the press mechanism in and slowly press the coffee grinds down to the bottom of the pot. Then enjoy! It kept her coffee hot for over 3 hours in the double wall design. No need for a thermos. The spout made it easy to pour into a small coffee cup with no spillage. We have no complaints about this french press at all.

Funky look appeals to me and the coffee it produces is excellent.
When I pulled the pot out of the amazon box I was tickled by its perky, modern look and I was quite impressed by how well it was made. I've used French presses for decades but never a solid metal double walled press. I create my own blends of coffee and need to begin by saying that users are going to get great coffee in their mug when they start with quality beans. This press does what it is supposed to to get the best out of the beans. The double wall keeps the grounds hot during brewing. I like strong coffee and put a generous amount of ground beans in the pot, but still get four big cups of coffee from the pot. I never leave beans unplunged in the pot more than 20 minutes as this is a pot that holds heat so well that when you leave beans in too long the coffee will get bitter. We all have different preferences so try out how long you want to steep the ground beans until you find the strength that you like. You will never find grounds in the pot once the plunger is pushed down. The fit is tight and it looks like the strainer and plunger will hold up well. As with most French presses this pot is easy to clean. The metal is thick enough that it is not likely to dent in normal usage. Finally, the price was really inexpensive tor the quality of the product. I have just ordered a smaller two cup version and with that I think I am set for many good years of use.

Excellent, except for the threaded plunger.
This was my second French press, purchased in June 2015. The all-stainless construction is excellent, with the exception of the threaded connection between the plunger base and the rod on top. What I noticed early on was that plunger was a bit finicky when screwing onto the top; there were only a few threads that engaged between the plunger and the top. Now the plunger base frequently pops off, and it feels like the threads are stripped out. After tiring of the plunger falling into the hot brewing coffee, I picked up a model from another manufacturer.

If I could give it 10 stars I would!!
I'm new to the French press crowd. I bought this because it had good reviews and was inexpensive. I had a Keurig, which was perfect because I am a 1-cup per day drinker, and no one else in my house drinks coffee. But it was huge, I hated the waste of the k cups, and even though I switched to my k-cup, the coffee always seemed weak. Plus it was loud and huge. And then there's the water sitting in it all the time. But anyway, the Francois has forever turned me into a French press only coffee drinker. I got the 12 oz, and that makes the perfect amount of coffee for me. If you drink more than one cup, get the bigger size. The 12 oz makes about 10 oz once you leave room at the top for the lid. The strainer is tight, and I have never had any grounds in my coffee. I don't know if it keeps coffee hot, because I drink it as soon as it's ready. Another reviewer recommended letting it "brew" for 5 minutes, and I find that to be a perfect amount of time. I forgot it for about 15 minutes once and yes,the coffee was still hot but a little bitter yet not un-drinkable. I'm not a super coffee snob and have no idea about coffee types (I'm using folgers vanilla biscotti ground coffee right now) but I completrly notice a difference between the French press and the keurig and I love this little pot. So easy to use and to clean. My keurig went to goodwill and I don't even miss it.
