A Solid Kit with a Long History Written in Sprue
Redria is the most recent version of Kotobukiya's RAcaseal kits, and it shows; she comes with no shortage of spare parts and options. Assembly is mostly painless and glueless, though some parts can fall apart a bit easily without glue. The sculpt is good, and the figure herself is quite well-articulated, with both shoulders and hips being double joints (ball plus hinge), and is generally sturdy enough to stand on her own. The plastic is the standard Kotobukiya plastic model mixture, with the addition of a set of soft PVC hands. While a solid kit on her own merits, perhaps the biggest draw, and the reason to get Redria over the other RAcaseals is the above-mentioned options. As is common with plastic model variants, Kotobukiya re-uses old sprues instead of putting old parts on new sprue. As the fifth or so variant of the basic RAcaseal mold to date, Redria comes with over two dozen sprues, though many are quite small, and with these sprues plenty of options. The instructions detail two ways to build her; either the standard size, or a slightly shorter variant (the shorter one is the one listed first in the instructions). Instead of just a different body and set of shins, the shorter version has several parts remolded to maintain good proportions. All totaled, Redria has no less than four head sculpt options, three body options, two arm options, two skirt options, and two feet options, along with a good selection of accessories; besides all the weapons shown in the pictures, she also comes with a pair of small pistols, two full sets of hands, and even a small number of waterslide decals. The kit even includes a few prepainted parts and no less than three prepainted eye pieces; in theory, they're supposed to be looking left, right, and straight forward, but the difference isn't particularly noticable. Really, the only thing missing from this kit is more than one faceplate; additional expressions would be nice to help emotively. Another nice touch is an alternate backplate; besides allowing the clear mag holder, it also has a 3mm hole that's compatible with just about anything else using the same peg size (which is most model kits by Kotobukiya or Bandai). In short, the RAcaseal is a good, solid kit that shows in several ways a history of refinement of the mold. Plenty of options means that with a few coats of paint, multiple kits can easily become distinct from each other, and plenty of weapons and good posability allows for a large amount of playability in the finished figure.

Do-it-Yourself-Build and Inexpensive PSO Figure
Excellent PSO figure. There is a reason why it is significantly more inexpensive than the other ones. Comes with a variety of weapons and a mag. No stand. Aside from fans of the series, this figure is best for those with time and/or patience.==========================================================================================================This figure is a build-it-yourself. I don't have much experience with these, so it took me a few hours to assemble it together. Most of the ones I bought, I was able to display it right out of the box or just needed to change a pose or two.Weapons include a katana, Soul Eater (scythe), S-Berrill's Hands (fist), H&S 25 Justice (mechgun), and the infamous Spread Needle (rifle). The only problem is that they are not painted. They are black/gray. If you played the games, the weapons looked nice. Too bad it isn't painted. But that's probably another reason why it is inexpensive.Includes a Red Sato. It looks decent in all red, but it would be nice to see it in its full colors to help break up the monotonous red color scheme.==========================================================================================================Overall, for the price, it's a great figure that is best geared towards people with time, patience, and/or those that simply like building a figure from scratch. Lots of room for posing thanks to the intricate articulation of the figure's joints, among other things. Looks great when finished (I had mine hold a Red Handgun from one of my other PSO figures). Brings back memories.
